Trail Blazers (20-15) At Warriors (22-12)

    What To Watch For

    First Quarter Energy
The Trail Blazers are coming off of an emotional high after coming back in the final seconds to defeat the defending World Champs. It was a game that saw four of five Trail Blazer starters log over 40 minutes (the fifth, Hickson played 34) and where the bench was only able to produce 8 points. While they are exceeding everyone's expectations, this is still a young Blazers team and we've already seen them perform on the road coming off a high victory. After taking it to the Knicks at MSG, Portland laid an egg the next night in Toronto due to having spent all of their energy the night before. A quick-start will be key, especially the first 12 minutes. If the starters are mentally sharp and can keep the game close, this bodes well for our chances. But then the burden comes on the bench. There's no doubt the bench will play more tonight. We'll need at least 25 bench points to keep this one close in the 4th. Look for Luke Babbitt and Joel Freeland to have solid nights. Babbitt feels due for a few 3's and in what could be an uptempo affair, suits him perfectly. Freeland is a big body who can take advantage of Ezeli and Landry on the blocks. Golden State is a team that doesn't have size which makes life a lot easier for the Trail Blazers.

Win The Battle Beyond The Arc
The Warriors have always been lethal from downtown and this year is no different as Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and co. bolster the NBA's 4th highest 3-pt percentage (.387). It will be important for the Blazers to not get into a 3-pt shooting contest with this squad. While Batum, Lillard Babbitt, and Matthews can all get hot, that's not how Portland wins tonight. The Blazers have a big advantage down low as JJ Hickson and LaMarcus Aldridge should be able to dominate inside against Lee, Ezeli and Landry. Hopefully Portland can get the inside game going which would force Golden State to send the double, leaving our shooters open for quality looks.

Its a homecoming for Dame Lillard. I doubt that he'll be affected by the pressures of trying to play well in front of family and friends. I look for him to be his usual solid self. Its not going to be easy chasing Steph around, but i imagine if he gets out of hand it'll be batum to the defensive rescue. Klay Thompson can just flat out shoot the rock when he's on. David Lee plays great at home. Jarrett Jack is and always has ben solid. Id love to have him back here. They're another team that you cant let get out and run. I look for L.A. to have a better game than what he did against the Heat. On this second game of a back to back,we're going to have to rely on , dare i say it, " Our Bench " to step up tonight. Dont be surprised to see Freeland on Lee for spells tonight. And Babbitt needs to make a guest appearance as well. I think we beat them if we concentrate on taking it to the rack and getting their bigs in early foul trouble. They're no slouch at home so we definitely have to bring our A game. I like our chances though if we play as we have been. Solid and together. And we definitely have to take care of the rock against this team. 10 turnovers or less and we handle them.

Weren't Warriors fans just publicly humiliating their front office with a chorus of boo's last year? We should make them boo them again following like a 40 point Blazer beatdown!

These arent the Warriors of last year. They arent going to lay down. We have to be solid against these guys are we'll get run out of the gym. Pound them early and often in the paint to slow the game down. JJ has to be JJ in the paint tonight.

But sucks we couldnt get it going. But theres not a lot of teams that can beat

The defending CHAMPS Miami Heat then go on to beat the 22-12 Warrior on a back to back..

Jeffries and Babbit were nice when Hickson and Aldridge were out but Babbit couldnt hit as well as he capable of...

Too little, too late.  23% for 3 quarters won't get it done.  LA should have started in the post.  I think Hickson(2) and Lillard(3) were the only guys with more than 1 basket made after an entire half of basketball.  Inexplicable.

Looks like Hickson at center is start to take it toll from easy missed baskets to fumbling passes as much as he's giving he's all you can only play the 5 undersized for so long one thing I'm wondering what's the deal with Leonard I haven't heard anything, anyway time to retreat and regroup and prepare for the Thunder KD just dropped 40 so Batum will have his hands full again.

This was just an off game for the whole team. Lillard scored a lot in the 4th but he needs to get going earlier in games. We shot horribly for 3 qtrs and didn't seem to have any legs out there. David Lee always has good games against us for some reason. On to the next one!

First off Damian- Jack will make a lot more than 4 million next year. At minimum he will get a couple MLE offers starting at 5.15 million. Tony Allen will also get many MLE offers so to sign either will take at least 6 million probably closer to 8...

Unholy your failing to account for a few things. One Tony Allen has significantly outplayed his 3.3 million a year contract. He will get several MLE offers which starts at 5.15 million. So if you want him it will take at least that much probably m...

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...

Rip the Larry Sanders trade would happen on draft day so people would already know we fixed out biggest weakness. Then once free agency begins its up to LA, Lillard, Stotts, Olshey and Paul Allen to lure people here. It becomes a lot easier to con...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.
