    I would love to see LA get the same deal as Roy. What are your toughts?

    I love Lamarcus and want to see him get paid, but I don't think he is the same caliber of player as Brandon. Roy can do it all and is the leader of this team, so he's deserving of a max contract. While LA is a very important piece of the championship puzzle, he is not worth more than 12 or 13 million a year to the Blazers, though he could be to another team. Hopefully we never find out because he re-signs with us!

    Also, keep in mind that the less we pay LA, the more we have to keep Greg and the other future stars of this team from leaving in free agency. If GO has the kind of 09-10 season we all hope he will, he'll want to get paid next off-season. The NBA is a business and Paul Allen is rich, but not rich enough to start handing out max deals to everyone.

    I understand what you are saying about the dollars, but even Roy recognizes that LA is an All star just waiting to happen. If we don't pay him, someone else will.

    I totally agree with you, Dman, that we have to pay LA some big money, just not the max. If we can sign him long-term for less, I believe that will be best for the team. If we want a ring, or a couple, it will take more than just Brandon and Lamarcus. The young studs we have won't be on rookie contracts forever.

    Basically agree with everyone, sign him for a lot of money......just not max at this point especially if they're doing it now but if they are waiting till later in the season or during next offseason then the price might go up depending on how stellar of a season LA has....
    I am a fan of the beautiful cohesiveness of my blazers, reminding me of why I've loved this franchise for much of my young life despite being a texan....
