I agree CT...an act of congress OR, an act of a third team involved in the deal.  I reserve the right to dream...  JJ is somewhat of a throwback.  There aren't alot of PFs out there anymore that play 'ol school and bang.  Most have become jumpshooters.  Hickson has real value.

Id like to see Nolan go to Cleveland so he could play with his Duke classmate Kyrie. Maybe they could be that third team that you speak of BDawg.

@ Siccolo, u game me an idea:  Phi. gets JJ Hickson & Al Jefferson; Jazz gets A. Bynum, Kwame Brown, & Meyers Leonard; Por. gets D. Favors (I know Utah would rather keep him v. Millsap but if they want Leonard from us... ;) & Enes Kanter.  Easy to c why Phi. would do this deal & pretty easy to c why we would ;)  Why would Jazz do this?  Jazz would benefit from this trade because they get relief in paying for Favors & Kanter in the years to come (not only rookie contracts but career contracts as well) & they solve the logjam problems w/ talented bigs; also, Meyers will become (his athleticism/speed as a big is already a huge asset) a scoring big (v. Enes anyway; although, Enes CAN score enough to make him dangerous) that can complement Millsap very well (the way Utah plays, Meyers fits better v. Kanter & Kanter suits us better the way he plays).

What do u guys think of this 1?

OR... actually... the above trade w/o Enes & Kwame Brown ALSO works (this solves A LOT of our problems!)!  I WOULDN'T b surprised to c this happen in real life! ALL teams r way more inclined to do my revised trade :)  BTW, I did these trades on ESPN's trade machine.

Hey Simpson Nice to see you on the Message Boards!

Well I dont think Jazz wants to give up Favors AND Kanter. They are trying to build around those guys and get younger. Kanter will be better than Leonard by far also.

But then again it feels like all teams WOULD say yes....But what If Hickson vetos the trade and does not want to go to Philly. Or what If Philly thinks that Al Jeff will leave in FA and then they might be in a bad position. Jazz might say yes if Andrew does come back and shows he is n healthy shape...Also they are probably going to want some draft picks from both Philly and Portland...

At first I thought the trade was dumb to be honest, but when you really look at it, it is very well made....Nice trade

Oh that changes it a bit. If Utah can have Bynum, and Kanter they would be happy. Philly would then have Big Al, Hickson, Hawes, and Kwame, and we would have Aldridge and Favors so we would still have our center problem....this would be nice BUT Blazers would be giving up JJ Hickson and Myers Leonard for Derrick Favors we would need to be getting another piece for us to agree to this trade.... maybe a Utah draft pick or Randy Foye or Kwame Brown or Nick Young ....just another piece...

    Still nice trade

    @ Siccolo, thx man!  ;)  I always like reading ur thoughts/comments :)

I love the idea of D. Favors because he's 6"10 & can play BOTH C & PF :)  I think if we got him & then were able to get Jimmer through trade or whatever... we'd b all set!  :)

ps "At first I thought the trade was dumb to be honest...," wait, there's more, "but when you really look at it, it is very well made....Nice trade." Hahaha!  Good stuff man :)

    Thank a lot!!!!

I have been dissappointed with Hickson lately. I think it would be in our best interests to trade him.

A lot of people think Portland will go after Pekovic

    Zac

Is there any Portland could land one of Milwaukees bigs? I think a guy like dalempert would make Portland a much better defensive team and rebounding coming off the bench

    • Bill Ingram

I have two words for you: Nikola Pekovic. Minny would be crazy to let him go, but if Portland makes him a huge offer they can’t really afford to match when they have Love and Rubio as their main salary guys. I think an argument could be made that they should keep Pekovic and deal somebody else to make that happen, but for now they appear to be committed to Love and Rubio. Pekovic is radically better than Dalembert or Sanders.

Nice pull Siccolo.  I'm going to take exception to some of what Ingram said.  While I agree Pekovic is, and should be, on Olshea's radar, I disagree in "Pekovic is radically better than Dalembert or Sanders."  Dalembert, yes.  Sanders, no.  To say "radically better" is a real stretch.  I've watched both play, and I'd have to say that Pek is much closer to his peak than is Sanders.  Factor in Sanders being at the top of the list of players in the running for DPOTY, and "radically better" looks to be radically inaccurate.  Portland has MIL coming up.  Take a peak for yourselves.  Last night in 24 minutes vs DHo, 3 blks and 11 boards and a -1 +/-.  Kid is exactly the type of 5 this team needs if LaMarcus is the future.  Defensive monster and prolific rebounder, young and athletic.  High percentage, low volume shooter.  This kid resembles, dare I say, a healthy Greg Oden.  Just my take, feel free to disagree.  Additionally, if a third party in trade can be found, Sanders likely will be cheaper than Pek.

Not sure trading for Jefferson or Millsap make much sense when we can just try to sign them in the off-season. Another C I want is Pekovic, but I believe he is restricted and Minnesota would be crazy to let him go.

I think Blazers will go after Pekovic the second they can. If Min matches the offer

    then

we can resign Hickson to a 5-6 mil over 3 year contract then fill out the roster with a Dalmbert/ Mozgov/ Pachulia/ and use what ever cap left to find a guard.

Larry Sanders is under contract for 3 mil next season.  I don't understand why his name keep coming up as an option.
