Trail Blazers (16-14) At Raptors (11-20)

    What To Watch For

    Respect Your Opponent
This goes for the team as well as our fans. Do not let Toronto's 11-20 record fool you, they are playing inspired basketball, winning seven of their last eight games including wins over Dallas, Houston, and Orlando. When we all took a look at this four-game road trip, nearly all of us pointed to the Toronto game and said, "That's a win." But that mindset must change and hopefully the team is focused and prepared for a battle. We all know this Trail Blazer squad is young and has tendencies to overlook inferior opponents but if they are truly serious about playoff basketball, this is the type of win they must get, especially on the road.

    Proceed With Caution From Downtown
During Portland's 92-74 win over Toronto in December, the Trail Blazers set a then-NBA record for most 3-point attempts without a make, 20. If they shoot that poorly again, don't expect a similar result. There's definitely no problem with letting them fly from beyond the arc, but if it's apparent the shot isn't falling early on, it's on the team to show discipline and move away from the long jumpshot and force the action inside to Aldridge and Hickson who have been beats in the paint lately. Whether its spin moves in the post of putbacks off of offensive rebounds, those two are making life miserable for their counterparts down low. If the Trail Blazers don't fall in love with the 3 and can win both the rebounding battle and points in the paint, they will be 2-0 on this Eastern swing.

Toronto had a pretty brutal schedule and have suffered some significant injuries to their roster.  This will be a tough back2back.  Blazers need the kind of start they had vs NY.  Portland is favored, and all the more reason to not take this game for granted.

I don't make predictions often, but I will GUARANTEE the Blazers will make more than one 3 pointer.

Wes is back! We should carry the momentum from NY to Toronto! My new years resolution for the Blazers is to not play down to the competition.

New studies are showing that dinosaurs were warm blooded animals, not cold blooded as previous thought.
The Blazers job is to keep these dinosaurs cold blooded.

The Blazers play with zero energy.  Shot terrible. Didn't move the ball.  Turned the ball over on horrible passes and poor decisions. Didn't play good defense the entire shot clock. And were blown out, looking like the team ESPN predicted would only win 28 games.

    Disappointing.

This is the epitome of the Blazers they look great shocking the Knicks and then get pounded like a school girl on her prom night by the Raptors. No idea which is the real team.

It's not a good day when the Raptor's reserves outscore your starters.  Time to pack it in.  Maybe next time.

That game was so Bad on NBA League Pass that the Toronto announcers were singing the priaises of Joel Freeland becuase they had no other Blazers that were doing good to talk about.

Ouch, aarrgghh and yuck! The Blazers left their game in NY. No excuses, just an ugly, old fashioned __tt kickin'. Now they're going to have to play perfect to get a split on the road. This game goes in the recycle bin. Freeland was the one bright thing after the white flag went out.

I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
