    After last nights game, even Jermaine O'Neil looked good! Dalembert would be a good fit here though. I'd still rather find a younger veteran center and that's not easy to do. Be interesting to see if we make a move before the deadline but I doubt we will

    no need for a true big man teams these days succeed without it i'd be happy with even an undersized c (not as undersized as hickson though) that can defend bigger c's down in the post

    Now our cards are on the Table.  We have two options, sign him, or let him go!

    @Maniac...you're forgetting option #3...both A & B.  Imo...this is the most likely scenario

    Forgot Sign & Trade.  Thanks for reminding me.  However that means there needs to be a taker.  Based on the last few weeks, doubt that we will find someone with him getting FA dollars!

    Coupling some expiring contracts and possibly a pick with an 8mil dollar Hickson becomes more attractive and nets this team a better player in return...a player that "moves the needle".

    If Olshey picks up Hickson for 8, might as well pick up his QO at $7 and change.  If Maynor works out, Blazers will pick up his QO for 3 mil.  That would leave Portland with $2-3 mil in cap space to sign a starting center and back up shooting guard...  I'm not liking that so much.

    Maynor will be tested until the end of the season to see if he´s worth signing...

    JJ Hickson is a good option as backup PF/C in any team, even starting PF in some, but for us keeping him next season would be to expensive to manage, if we want to fill the other gaps,  backup SG(i dont think Elliot Williams will stay) and a Starting Center,  JJ will leave in the end of the season almost for sure, either he just goes, or sign and trade...

    Nuno...the reason I say JJ is gone is simple.  He is going to command far too much for a back-up, and this team has a starter.  I would LOVE Hickson to stay and back Aldridge up, but 1) with the ongoing cap shrinkage, no way 8mil + is justified for a back-up, and 2) if I had to guess, I'd say JJ believes he's a starter now and will settle for nothing less...especially on a team not contending and in a small market.  Just my take, and I've never had a beer with the man, so I won't suggest I know what is on his mind.  Educated guesses only.

    i agree with all you said...

    I wish JJ gets what he deserves,  a good contract, and a starting role next year, but on another team...

    I like hickson a lot, but if we think clearly, we wouldnt be able to get a Starting Center and a couple more good bench players if we resign JJ... So im ok with him leaving, it will be good for him and for our team, that will be able to fill the gaps, we have now... mainly a backup SG and a Starting Center, adding to that a player to replace Hickson...

    I would agree LMA is a decent defender but his help defense and team defense needs a lot of work. It is in these areas that Bosh really separates himself from LMA and it is because of that he is a better player than LMA despite not putting the sam...

    I was looking at some shooting stats and came across a very very alarming stat. LMA was the league leader in FGA from 16-23 feet. Not only was he the leader he was lead by a mile. His 7.3 attempts from this distance easily outpaced Demar Derozan w...

    Sug I would start with him outscoring Wesley Matthews. He also needs to get his FTA up and his FG% up and cut down the turnovers.

    His defense was decent last year but not that good as he is either too weak or just unwil...
