Jazz just hammered the Lakers! Well I didn't see the game, so I don't know what all went down.
But anyway, the Lakers are now 9-12.
    The Blazers are currently 8-12

If we can nail down a win in this next game vs. Toronto... guess what??
    WE TIE THE LAKERS!
So all this stuff our fans are going through, losing more games then we'd like, our partners to the south are feeling it just as much as we are. Where there's hope there is a way. Stay ahead of the Lakers and we could steal a playoff spot.
LET'S GO BLAZERS! RIP CITY BABY!!!!!

Just goes to show that having expensive superstars does not always guarantee great basketball. I predicted Howard would get his coach fired and talk about going to another team when he got to LA...feels good to be right sometimes. I hope we sweep them in the west

Don't worry the Lakers will become co-hesive and start winning.  They always do.

Kobe will have another epiphany and pull his head out his butt and lead the team as he always does.  It is too early to count them out with the Talent they have!

Honestly, I was never sold on their roster. Granted I never thought that they would play this poorly but they are just a mash up of really good starting players. They really don't have a system that brings out all of their talents and they are also getting very old. Kobe might will his team to do better but I also think that father time will catch up to either Nash or Kobe and then their will go their chances.

Both teams are 9-12 at time of this post, with the Lakers losers of their last two and possessing the lesser conference and road record. December looks to be a sink or swim month for Tinsel Town's second best team. Stay tuned.

That's three straight losses for the Superfriends, and the Cavs...even with Sideshow Bob...are NOT a good basketball team right now. If a picture is worth a thousand words, I wonder how many of them from the picture ^ would be slang and not PC?

My all time favorite Kobe game...40pts 10 turnovers...strangest double double I can ever remember. Rest of the team gets 37...and lucky they got really lucky getting to shoot at all....Lakers fall with 77 total pts to the Kings. Says it all.

why would the coach be released when the objective about this season according to olshey wasn't about winning but about development? we've kept just about every loss pretty close if anything I could see caleb getting fired and us bringing in an elite defensive coach before stotts gets put on the chopping table and so far I've noticed over the last few games our bench is improving little by little

Saw this evening the Lakers are saying Nash will likely return Christmas Day v the Knicks. Am I the only one smelling what this smacks of?

At time of this post, Portland sits at .500, winners of 4 straight...while the Lakers continue playing catch up, winners of 3 in a row but sitting at 12-14, trailing the Blazers in the standings

Anxious to see what the league does with Howard, following his flagrant 2 on Faried last night...  A Howard-less Laker team is an intriguing match-up indeed for Portland, as the Blazers have difficulties defending the paint...particularly dominant post players

No word yet on the availability of Laker C Dwight Howard for tonights contest.  One can't help but question a league that would suspend Wade for this, but allow Howard to continue to play for his surging, money-making, NBA cash cow Los Angeles Lakers after deliberately delivering a blow to the face and head of an opponent.  Stern, you're leaving Silver a big mess in your wake.  Just my opinion.

Damnn tough game....we have the same record. Lakers play The Clippers, Nuggets, Spurs, and the Thunder

so we have to win our next games to try to stay ahead of them and stay in the playoff race.

BUT we play Knicks, Raptors, Girzzlies, Timberwolves

So lets go to the title of this thread.  "The Official - We're catching the Lakers Thread"

Not to optomisitc after last night.  As I have said in this thread previously, they will become cohesive and start tearing apart the west as they always do.  Now that Nash is back directing the team on the floor, I thnk it is more evidence that we will not catch them or even have a chance at making the playoffs

Portland cannot compete at this level or the Clippers level.

Yes Batum had 8 assists but he was 0-5 from beyond the arc. We need him to play a complete game of which I remember he has had 1 this season.  I hope he finds his game soon where he can play a complete game.   My question is that is he putting to much pressure on himself now that he knows he is being watched because of his large contract?  He seemed to play more relaxed last year when he was not getting paid.

JJ is a good almost great center, but there are very few if any who can guard Howard.  Last night proved we need a solid big man to either start at Center or play behind JJ.  Leonard needs to be three coming off the bench to allow him more time to Mature.  I hope Leonard is planning on the LV summer league.

Thank God LA played otherwise it would have been a 50 point loss.  He had a great game.

Lillard needs to figure out how to play the double team otherwise he will not have he success he had earlier in the season.

I agree with BDawg on Barton, give him more minutes as the more he has played the better he gets.

Had to listen to the game on the radio last night as the game was Blacked out becuase od Dish's refusal to play Laker Games in thier conract dispute with Time Warner Cable.  It was bad enough to listen to it on the Radio let alone TV.

Finally, Please, Please, Please Wes get Healthy.  You and JJ are the Heart and soul of this team.  The team is not the same since since you have been out.

We all know pretty much that the Lakers should beat us with bench players filling in and a couple of starters in a shooting slump. Takes at least 7 guys producing to win against veteran teams and last night we were way shy of that. Hopefully we bounce back and Wes gets healthy really soon.

Don't look now, but there's big trouble in Tinsel Town.  The OTHER team in Los Angeles lost their FIFTH straight last night.  The Lakers may be sellers come next month's trade deadline, and as river and D have said, are now in real jeopardy of missing the playoffs.  Historic.  Apparently, love isn't the only thing money can't buy...

At time of this post, the Blazers are boasting a whopping 4.5 game lead on Los Angeles.

Without Gasol and Howard last night vs Harden and the Rockets, the Lake show looked every bit the old man they collectively are this season.  The Lakers were outscored in the second half 66-50 and their D allowed Houston to hit on 55% from the field.  Clearly the aggressors, the Rockets went to the stripe almost twice for every Laker trip, 23-13.

Is it me, or have the Lakers become the Clippers pre-CP3...the Clips the Lakers of the 90s?  Aww...and me without a hanky

Believe it or not, the Lakers made up some ground against the Blazers. We've lost 4 in a row, and the Lakers have recently gone 2-1. So at this current moment, we are holding a 3 game advantage over L.A. in the standings.

If you'd like, you can thank the Heat for whoopin' the Lakers on TNT last night. I know I did.
