If only we'd traded all our best players and signed Harden....wait, we beat Houston! If only we'd let Nic go to Minnesota..wait we beat Minnesota!...Trading is always a gamble, but trading your best players 18 games into a season is more than just a gamble...its a risky gamble. Draft picks? According to all of the GMs at the Mauii workout this fall there's not one first round quality player in the draft. Value is such a relative thing...Pau Gasol was considered hands down the steal of the decade by the Lakers and now he's trade fodder. 18 games into our season I remind myself what Olshey said over the summer. You don't dump value, you accumulate assets to build around them. Stotts said we'd be better in April than November...both were right in my opinion. Our bench needs help, yeah we get that but after every loss the flood of condemnation aimed at our core players is uncalled for. We're ahead of the rebuilding game and will get better this season. In the meantime, how about a little perspective for our starters? They're all actually pretty good.

I think even that is too detailed for explaining the disconnect of some "fans" riverman.

I think they simply lack a fundimental understand of who the Portland Trail Blazer are, let alone what it means to be a fan.  The Trail Blazers are not a pin wheel, that's just a symbol.  They are not the Rose Garden, it's just a building.  The Trail Blazers are players. There is nothing to be a fan of without them.  So... let's trade them.  Let's harp on how they aren't better than Lebron James or Kevin Durant.  Give me a break.  If I didn't know better, I'd think being a fan meant complaining 24/7 and bad mouthing the very team, and players, I tell people I am a fan of.  It's epidemic of the instant gratification, impersonal social interaction, internet culture.  It's pretty obnoxious.

If you ever do make it to the Rose Garden, look up in the rafters. Those banners are symbols of PLAYERS that did great things as Trail Blazers.  Imagine trading any of them away in their prime.  That's exactly what many on this forum talk about.  It's absurd.

Read the name of the site, "I AM A TRAIL BLAZER FAN."  Seriously, do everyone a favor and stop being Portland Trail Blazer fan if all you want to do is trade everything that is good about the Blazers, and complain about everything you think is wrong with them.

Our starting line up is playing to good to be traded. This is just going to be a development season I have finally come to realize.

Next season we are going to much better after a draft, year of growth, FA offseason, time to heal and bond.

Yeah I never got that. You want to play at the 4, fine, but you can guard the centre. Also, did you guys know that DeJuan Blair is a 6"7 centre?

Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.

Smart. Seems about the only thing you can do with injured big men. Nerlens Noel, you''re next.

Here''s my best Mock Draft scenario for the Blazers:

Trade every pick we can to get a starting defensive Center.

Sanders better shotblocker, better dunker and around the rim, Asik better defensively. I think Asik will have the better career.

Well, I still think he won''t do great in his career. Seems weak.
