    He is a BEAST

Plays with most energy, aggressiveness, on this team.

    We Have TO Resign Him.

TRADE LAMARCUS he is really pissing me off. Right when you think he is going back to his old All Star form, playing in the post, he takes LONG TWOS and POST FADEAWAYS.

He cant even rebound. He is a black Adrea Bargnani. FML why do the Blazers suck haha

I want the season to be over and have the draft start right now .

Welcome aboard! There's room for more. Better late than never :-) This is Hicky's team now, a title he is going out and EARNING, not being gifted. His consistent play has never been less than an example to all of his team mates. Follow, or get out.

I love what JJ brings to the team but it's not JJs team. It's Paul Allens team and team is the key word here. JJ has had a few off games so far. If the shots aren't falling, we're not winning a lot of games. This is a good year to watch this team develop and I really hope we don't fall into the trap of last season causing infighting and bad vibes aimed at our core group of starters. These guys actually are pretty good and will only improve as the season goes on. JJ had a game with 3 pts and 9 rebounds when Nic had 35 pts. Night in and night out its the team that will win games, not the individuals. I like our core and across the board, they have my support.

What i saw last night was a Dame who had JJ in mind when he made that drive to the hoop. His dime was a little behind JJ,but catchable and finishable. I wouldnt go so far as to say trade L.A.,i would however tinker with the idea of a line-up change.

Having both played and coached, I can tell you that the level of difficulty Dame faced in delivering that pass was off the charts and moreover, JJ's vision of that pass was considerably blocked, giving him less time to pick it up visually and make the clean catch needed. You make an interesting point here though. Dame was looking to drop it to JJ in the team's most dire time of need. That speaks volumes.

Regarding mention of line up change. I'm behind that and have been calling for it for some time. Here's the thing everyone on these boards needs to see. A decision is going to have to be made this year on what to do with JJ...let him go, or sign the cat. Clearly he is earning a roster spot long term with this team. If the decision goes the way it looks to go, long term who do you bench at the 4? Hickson is balling out his backside but playing out of position at the 5, which is a short term solution, presumably while Leonard gets his feet wet. Neither LA nor Hickson will want anything but a starting role, and how do you bench a near max player and former all-star and former face of the franchise? You don't. You trade him. The writing is on the wall and LA isn't fighting it.

As much as it pains my fingers to write this,L.A. would get us a couple of valuable assets. Bynum and Thadeus out of Philly for instance. Bynum and JJ in the post is pure savagery. Thadeus backing up Batum. If he's kept,Id still like to see what E Dub could bring, and have him come in for Wes.

I love that idea CT, i applaud you for having the courage to say it.

Everyone knows Lamarcus has not been play like he did last year. I know I keep saying trade Lamarcus, but this is only if he continues to play like this when the deadline nears. If he goes back to playing in the post and defending and rebounding like we all know he could then keep him, "but...... its a business."

    Similar deals can be

LA for Demarcus Cousins and Travis Outlaw

LA, Claver, future picks for Greg Monroe and Tayshaun Prince and Kim English

Thank you Siccolo, for helping me to better define my stance with LaMarcus. My concern, and it is a viable one, is that his performace thus far early this season, is a CHOICE he's made. If that is in fact the case, then inherent in such a choice he will never again perform the way he's capable in a Blazer uniform. This, and ONLY this scenario, is where I call for a trade. I do not "hate" the man as some may believe. Conversely, I love and support those around him that, while logging heavy minutes, are also having to carry his considerable weight. I don't support slackers making millions of dollars and never will. If LA's numbers are down due to a variety of health issues and/or Stotts' system, I will stand up and take my medicine for being wrong. However, the evidence against LA mounts. In a players only meeting held following the loss to Washington...guess who led? Not this team's "leader", all-star, and "best player"...HE sat quiet. No, it was Wesley(not surprisingly) and Jefferies. JEFFERIES. That strike anyone else as being a bit odd?

Common, you are absolutely correct. Nice pieces could be had while losing one. Our bench is literred with unproductive, expiring contracts which, in a trade are valuable assets. Not the least of which is Babbitt's. Before Nic was re-signed, Luke was making the same lettuce. A package featuring LA, Babbitt and his contract, and possibly another expiring on our bench is VERY attractive, and could net substantial gain...over and above what would be lost. These starters need a bench before they themselves begin riding it...in street clothes.

BDawg and CT, love your assessment on this siutation.  BDawg you are right it struck me as odd why both the proclaimed main pieces of our team LA & Batum were quiet.  It not only struck me as odd, but it pissed me off to say the least.

CT I love that trade idea, Bynum and Hickson (west coast versions of twin towers).  What are we giving up, and expiring contract in Babbitt (yes he has great three point range) and a PF who will not play low post becuse he does not have the balls to doi and loves his 15 foot jump shot.

When the Blazers where the pinnacle of the NBA they had toughness inside, SaBonis, Pippen, Buck Williams, Lloyd Neal, Mighty Maurice Lucas, Kevin Duckworth just to name a few.  The whole team rallied around this type of play.

Terry Stotts, make a statement and shake things up and make Wes Matthews team Captain.

Yes, even though it might not seem like it sometimes, we ALL love LA. He has done so much for this team.

But my problem is this, when the season was apporaching LA never said he wasnt feeling 100%. He was talking about his new moves he has in the POST using his left hand. Also he said he felt good and said he feels like he is in his prime right now.

LA has all the tools to be a Great Player but he is not using his skill set to his full potential. Since he has all the tools, you dont have to trade if he uses his skills to the max of his potential.  But if he continues to shoot long twos , not fight for rebounds, not defend then trade him for valuable assets. A lot of players come back from an injury and dont ever try there best in games anymore. (Carlos Boozer, Amare Stoudmire, Tracy Mcgrady,) He has given up.

Come the deadline, and he is playing like he is now, well...Philly is in need of a Power Foward.

After thinking about it Bynum is Mental and out for the season with his so called bruised knee why take him on with his bloated contract.  Maybe his knee will be better if he is on the west coast and only 2 plus hour plane ride to Los Angeles.

Just what we need...Bynum? A chronically injured center who never sees the court and is pretty much considered cancer in the locker room and uncoachable? Jeesh! We paid a small fortune for 2 years for guys in crutches on the bench...I, for one do not want to revisit those days anytime soon. Talk about a guy milking a paycheck...Bynum is that guy

We have cap to go after a big man in FA too. So if LA is still playing bad then find a bunch of picks and young studs for the  bench.

I found it Chloe, under the Blazers are like the Cubs..well said, you definitely know your Blazer History. I think the Lucas, Walton championship team and the Porter, Drexler team were the exceptions to the curse and the Sabo, Sheed squad that got burned by Tim Donahy the Vegas bookie ref against the Lakers. After the Lakers stole that Western finals series from the Blazers, Sheed never seemed to forget it. He was actually right in the early days most of the time he got T'd up..it wore on him over the years. He could've been the best PF to ever play the game if he could've handled the bad ref calls that cost really important games. Sort of took over Rodman's bad guy of the NBA status. I was thrilled he got a ring in Detroit and you're right about Sabo...if we got him a few years earlier he would've ruled the NBA. Shaq was once quoted as saying Sabo was the one guy he feared in the paint. My mother passed away several years ago and was a die hard Cubs fan her whole life.

You guys are awesome! Thanks for checking it,I love hearing someone finally view the 2000 finals exactly the way I do,Of course were both blazers fans.Sheed cost the Blazers alot of games and it was very frustrating back in the day,if the Blazers wouldn't have been robbed by stern in 2000,then those early 2000 years,2001,2002,2003 woulda probably been alot better for all of us.The Blazers melted down mentally after that and it sucked cause we haven't won a playoff game since

My mother passed away several years ago and was a die hard Cubs fan her whole life.

not necessarily I personally think we got good luck with the walton team cause after that season walton literally declined

Yeah true dat,but if you gotta go back to 77 to find a instance of good luck.Pretty much show you the bad luck blazers have had, I mean even 77-78 season the blazers had best record in the league probably coulda repeated and Walton got injured.Hell every Blazers big man ever has been hurt or injured

I really don't think we could get much Aldrige. He is clearly regressing.

In keeping with the intended theme of common's thread...Thank you JJ for uncorking yet another monster performance, unfortunately in a loss, v the Kings at home this past Saturday.

14 points on 7-12, 15 boards, a block and zero TOs in only 28 minutes of action. If my math is correct, that's a 20 rebound game in 40 minutes. Flat out BEAST. Loving the high percentage stuff too.

He has earned the right for the Blazers to give him a three to four year contract.  Sign him now.

When Walton went down that hurt, but what I really think why we did not when the championship was when Lloyd Neal went down.  He was a beast in the middle and no one could contain him. He was playing at JJ's level and much more agressive in the paint then Walton.

Personally I think there would have been a repeat had he not gotten hurt.

JJ is finding his game and a home in Portland. On various interviews he's stated how much he likes being a part of this chapter of Blazer history and I see us resigning him next season to a longer deal. Gotta love the guy's hustle

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
