When you set expectations like this for not scoring in the Paint, how do you expect to win in the NBA?

It is called the Hustle Factor!

"Portland is averaging 33.6 points in the paint - better only than Washington's league-worst average of 31.0 - but coach Terry Stotts doesn't seem too concerned about his team's interior inefficiencies.

"We are not a paint-scoring team," Stotts said. "(Aldridge) will get there and we will get some offensive rebounds, but our primary scorers - (Lillard), (Wesley Matthews), and (Batum) - are not in-the-paint scorers. I do not necessarily expect to win points in the paint.""

We've won almost have our games with half a team of experience. When Leonard becomes a double double machine we're going to be tough to beat. I like Stotts attitude and frank assessment of where we are now. He's been handed a rookie squad to teach on the fly. Night in night out our young guys are playing guys they've never played before at a great disadvantage. Wes knows how to play Kobe. Barton doesn't. Big difference and we should all know the mountain we're climbing to be competitive this season. I came into the season expecting to at best be a 500 ball club that could pick up momentum in the second half of the season and at best make it out of the first round of the playoffs. So far so good.

Look, Stotts tells it like what he sees. We got a little used to Coach Kaleb focusing on the positive things about Blazer games. Obviously that's not Coach Stotts. He's been on teams that have struggled a little. He's also been part of very good teams. He's not going to take the scenic route. Telling him what's wrong with the team doesn't phase him. He knows all these nasty Blazer stats too. His job is to turn our weakness into gains by applying what our team is good at onto the court. If you hadn't watched the last 2 games, you'd have thought the Blazers were a very good team.

I like some of the adjustments that Coach Stotts has made to our team. We just need more team chemistry and better shooting, and we'll get back over .500. The hustle factor is there, and that means we have good coaching.

To be fair, we've been criticized for not being a paint team, and yet these last 2 games, despite not ending our way, we've seen HUGE in-the-paint games from not only LaMarcus Aldridge, but Lillard and even some Batum as well. It doesn't have to be all inside or all outside, they need proper balance; in my opinion, with our allstar being a PF, we should have a slightly larger amount of inside play than outside. Hopefully they're moving that direction.

DO YOU KNOW WHAT DEFENSE IS?

    DO YOU CARE ABOUT DEFENSE?

DO YOU CARE ABOUT KEEPING YOUR JOB?

    IF YOU DO?

BlazerManiac...In Stott's defense here, he cannot play the game for them.  Defense, as we all know, is primarily just effort.  I am seeing an unfortunate combination of fatigue and frustration mounting with the starters.  The players only meeting was a flag.  There's trouble in Rip City.

Bosh in Toronto was better than Lamarcus

I would take Lamarcus over Bosh right now

I love the Grit and Grind, and I love the Spurs timeless play. I think if the Spurs get to the finals, they will beat the heat, but they won''t beat the Grizzlies easily, and the Grizz can''t beat the Heat. I know it''s weird.

Charlotte is the team that would take the 13 and 10 for their 4th.

Not sure Oladipo or Mclemore is worth two late lottery picks, even in a weak draft.   I would LOVE to grab one of them but there is plenty of talent left. 2> 1 I would...

Ahead of Carmelo are you shitting me? Melo ped 28.7 and 6.9 Reb his PER was almost 25. He shot better from the field and from beyond the arc than Batum.

Batum at his best cannot hold Melo''s jock and that is a fact.&nb...
