12:00 PM | Barclays Center | Brooklyn, NY
Trail Blazers (6-6) At Nets (7-4)

    What To Watch For

    Lillard Vs. Williams
Coming off of an amazing performance against the Rockets which saw Damian Lillard set a new career-high in points with 28 all while handing out 8 assists and committing zero turnovers, he must now store that game in his memory and look ahead to facing one of the NBA's Top 5 point guards in Deron Williams. Williams presents one of the unique matchups for Lillard this season. Although he's already tangled with CP3, Nash, Lin, and Westbrook, Williams is a bigger guard who may try to take Lillard inside. Also, Williams is a a bulldozer playing point guard. Standing 6-3 and weighing 209 lbs, he has the ability to force the issue and attack Lillard on the break. We saw CP3 go right at Lillard earlier this season, which resulted in two early fouls for the rookie. Dame must pick his spots where he contests shots. Portland can't afford their floor general being sidelined with foul trouble. The keys to Dame winning this matchup are staying out of foul trouble, and playing off of Williams, forcing him to shoot from the outside rather than using his strength to get buckets in the paint.

    Rise And Shine

Not only is this the start of a seven-game Eastern road trip, but this contest is scheduled to tip-off at Noon, Portland time. This will easily be one of the earliest games the team has played all year and their bodies may not be ready or used to playing at this time of day. It will be critical for the Tail Blazers to either get off to a hot start or at least weather the storm if they are off their game early on. The key to winning today's game is hanging around until the fourth quarter starts, that means not letting the lead swell any higher than nine and always remaining within striking distance. Even better would be them controlling the tempo and pace of the game and holding a lead throughout the afternoon as Brooklyn is the one dealing with the unusual start time.

I think this will be a test for Lillard and Leonard. I anticipate Lillard playing off the ball early and Ronnie Price will probably get some burn against DWill early to alleviate foul trouble and maybe get Deron in early foul trouble. Will be good to see Crash again. He's a former Blazer I'd cheer for when he returns to Portland. Nets have two really good bigs that are going to test JJ and LA tonight. This would be a sweet win to steal on the road but it's the Knicks I want to see Lillard drop 50 on Felton! Go Blazers!

That game was like a short lived sparkler. Ran bright for a while but sputtered out near the end.

Leonard looks very good. I am very sorry to him for talking all that mess after the PHX game. After hearing from family and others, i am convinced he will be very good in the future, AND i must have patience with him.

Agree with Tobyus. Hickson is CLEARLY our best power forward...yet another double double and some real solid physical play. I don't feel we missed an all-star as much as we just missed a couple of bench contributors (looking like the fingerprint of this Blazer season). The "sputtered out" Tobyus referenced, was simply just due to lack of depth in my opinion...starters gassed and Dame with foul trouble. Going to be very difficult for this team to get road wins against quality teams this season.

@Siccolo...Leonard had a very good first half, but was taken away with adjustments after the break. Stotts was outcoached in the second half. Leonard showed some nice wrinkles in his offensive game in that first half. I would like to see him become a little more physical down on the block. Looks like Portland may have had that '06 draft you referenced in the cap space thread, with the front-running ROY in Dame, and a very promising young center. Personally, I don't believe there a better way to rebuild a team, starting with the 1 and 5. Two most difficult positions to find quality players to fill. We found quality PEOPLE that also happen to be quality players. Very nice. Go Blazers!

we need a bench- obviously! Our starters are going to be burnt by the all star game.

I am from Europe so it was my first live game watching and I have some observation. In my view we have good perspective team without bench. Lillard is very good in ofence and looked bad last night with defence againts D.Williams and also Brooks was enough tough to beat him several times. I don't know if he was tired ? or He has to work harder or He still have some problems with injury from college time ? Hickson is really good and strong and have big heart also Matthews, Batum shoots very good from clean position so Lillard or Price should pass him when he is alone for a while, simple :-). Leonard with his age looks very good and should hard works and maybe it our man for 5. With Aldridge playing We can win some games but I don't think We can get playoffs without bench :-( but I am really excited with next summer when we can get some star We will see !

I am also interest how many wins we can bring form East it will be also answer for our real value this season !

No matter how thin our bench is, we won't win games if we miss shots and brick freethrows. In fairness to the good play of some of our starters, we couldn't buy a call in this game. The Nets only had 2 fouls on them in the 2nd half and it seemed to take the wind out of the guys who put up a good fight for 3 qtrs. Lillard is an amazing rookie pt guard but he got schooled defensively similiar to the way he got schooled defensively in Phoenix. Ronnie Price is a way better defender at the point. Moving on...let's beat Detroit!
