Is KP really doing so bad this summer?

It seems like I here alot of talk on local and national sporting news about how badly KP has performed this summer, particularly in the free agent market. But was has he really done wrong? First, he tried to sign a good offensive player that was in the championships last year. So far, so good. Reports had already been made that Toronto could make an offer of around 53 million. KP said offered 50 million to Hedo, which was still too much in my opinion, for a player that would not have been a good fit. But it was a reasonable amount by league standards for a player of Hedo's caliber. KP probably could have offered more, but didn't, and it probably wouldn't have mattered because Hedo's wife didn't want to live in Portland no matter what. Besides the incredibly awkward Hedo welcome at PDX, KP did everything right. The offer was solid but extraneous circumstances shot it down. Next, KP "goes after" Paul Millsap, which still feels to me more like an attempt to hamstring a divisional rival financially. Millsap would have brought more talent to this team but probably wouldn't have wanted to play backup to LA. The Jazz never even thought about letting him go, anyway. So KP made a deal that was no lose, either we get a good trading chip or we screw over the Jazz. Still sounding pretty good to me. Finally, he makes a signing that is hailed as desperate. Really, when the Blazers had targeted Andre Miller last season? And had still waited when he became a free agent for the price to go down? Instead of paying him around 40 million over four years, the Blazers got him for 7 million a year for two years with a team option third year. Sounds to me like KP waited to buy until the price was right. That's good business. Maybe I am still drinking the KP Kool-aide, but I feel like he did pretty well this summer. In a year or two, when our young players (particularly Oden)are more experienced and the championship window opens, we should be ready to go for broke. But for now, I still really like the way this team is developing under the guidance of a great coach and a superb GM.

I''m not talking about those kinda calls, but phantom calls. Kobe gets soooo many phantom calls. I like Lebron, but I know because he''s a superstar he gets certain actions overlooked. Kobe just gets random stuff called. Remember when Kobe smacked...

Oh, sorry Damian, you make so many I stopped reading them. I don''t because I don''t know much about salaries and stuff. Stephenson would be great, excellent rebounder, Tough Defender, is playing awesome in  today''s  game.

Siccolo, did you mean heavier or lighter? I don''t think Noel will do well in the league. If he stays healthy long enough, he might be a half decent starter, if not, Greg Oden.

Damian, you are completely right on that, let''s just hope it''s not a negative impact (Shout out, Ray Ray). And since when did people WANT to come to Portland? This is great.

joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
