Why are these forums so inactive? We can get consecutive sellouts in the R.G, but we can't get a steady fan base on the forums?

What's the deal?

I am a fan of Skype (BeLiKiN33), Heroes Of Newerth (DKTiki), NBA (Blazers), NFL (KC Chiefs), Japan, Education, Hermitting, Gaming and women.

A lot of topics are played out now, we have a rotation. Our starters have shut up a lot of critics and feel free to start a topic about anything here, there are half a dozen of us that still read and comment on these sites regularly. Some topics generate interest, others don't. I keep trying. My recent gripe is how the media is filled with the Lakers lost a game instead of the Blazers or Mavs won one. It's as if since they were crowned the cream of the west that writers have to make excuses for them when actually they just got beaten by better efforts. I think trade talk has played itself out and now we're getting a picture of who the Blazers really are!

Wouldn't say these are dead at all, there's a number of people that are on here near daily and anytime I come on I see plenty of new posts... things go in cycles, if the forum has been a little slow it's not cuz "the forum's dead" it's cuz "the season wasn't going yet".

Watch what happens the next few weeks :)

@ commontongue, VERY much agreed; just bc there aren't an insane # of posts, that doesn't mean things r "dead." I know that when some1 in the posts beats me to the punch on the exact idea/thoughts I had, I'm not going to post the same thing again; also, when this happens, I'm only gonna chime in a small % of the time & say something (i.e. "VERY much agreed," etc. ;) & usually when I do this, I'm trying to expound on a different pt. or clarification.

@ ColinJones, guaranteed there r WAY more readers v. posters. I post stuff but I also don't a lot o' the time bc of time (I work weird hours but am in front of the computer a lot; so I jump on the site several x's a day & definitely don't post every time I'm visiting; there have been times that I haven't posted for stretches of weeks or more; yet I've also posted several x's in a day ;).

I think the emergence of Twitter and Facebook have turned many basketball forums into dinosaurs. Folks too busy scanning their digital world to stop in and say what Blazer things might be on their minds. And if they do, it's just buried in the big pile of tweets.

As the season progresses you'll see a lot more post,pics and comments. And Simpson hit the nail on the head. We all get our news at or about the same time. Hence the redundancy of some post. By January,we'll have topics up the yin yang.

I'm always reading, cuz it's the beginning, I tend to stick to player evaluation still since our roster was just set and now we're seeing what our actual rotation may start to look like.

We still don't know how we're going to compete, nothing can be sure in the first two weeks so I'm mostly just watching the games and trying to get a feel for the New Blazers.

In two weeks there will probably be a post saying "Ummm... Batum who?" and another post saying "Batum has been clutch"... Who knows lol, like I said, only been two games.

agreed. there's only so much that can be speculated on. this is the wait and see period. give it maybe 10 games or so and there'll be plenty of ideas and ways to improve the team. what's important right now is chemistry and growing as a team, and then the obvious problem is bench scoring, which will become increasingly important as the season progresses.

That really is not true we could come up with mock trades all day, do early draft watch, ideas for next free agency, talk x and o's, and much more people just are not doing it.

@ cmeese Why would we do any of those if we've barely seen what the team is going to look like this year?

FA: I could say GET DWIGHT HOWARD but if were that easy or possible I don't think we wouldn't do that no matter what lol. And idk where are biggest needs are at this point, are they big gaps? just some more role players? will batum keep stepping up? will leonard progress enough to be a solid starter? I'd rather just watch and get a good feel for those answers

Draft: Well as of right now I have no idea who's gonna be here next year at this point. And college bball hasn't started so not much could be contributed their.

Trades: I don't see us doing any trades this year, plus I never enjoy mock trade posts.. There's probably a million different possibilities and I don't see anywhere we would try and make a trade to upgrade at any spot, because of our youth and unkown.

I certainly agree with Curvychole that we need a better bench presence and that is a place that we can start the discussions even this early in the season.
