Billups played some 2 with success when Chris Paul joined the Clips. With Elliot down and Price being a decent pt and great defender and Nolan being a combo guard, will Damien be able to spot Wesley at the 2 if we need scoring in a game?

No doubt. Actually, he might be a serious threat at a position that allows him to be strictly in attack mode. Its a great option to have. But..... it certainly would be spot duty because there are a lot of big 2 guards in the game. For instance, D.Wade, Kobe, Joe Johnson, etc. are to big for him to guard on defense, but on offense he's a threat. Id love to see us get Harden for just such occcassions. A line up of Lillard,Harden,Batum,L.A., and Leonard would be devastating. Then you bring in Nolan/Price at pg, Sasha/Barton at sg, Morrison/Claver at sf, JJ Hickson at the pf, and Freeland/Jeffries at the C. I left out babbit and Matthews because theyd probably end up being part of the trade that nets us Harden. If we cant get Harden, id love to make a run at Klay Thompson. Orrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, Babbit,Sasha,Jeffries, cash, multiple picks and Freeland for Gordon Haywood.

two things about Harden...he'll be expensive and he's restricted, I believe which could bottle up our cap like the Hibbert deal did this off season. OKC would want a lot of value in a trade for him...not sure we'd make a move like that without losing a lot of players with upside. On the other hand, if we play exciting ball this season a guy like Harden might want to be here.

@commontongue - Don't trade Freeland until you see him playing (specially for Hayward). I hope you're going to regret those words :)

I think we will see plenty of action of Nolan and Lillard playing together for stretches... During those spans, Damian is sure to see action off the ball with his deadly jumper.... he is a going to be a tough cover for any two guard

Freeland looked like a polished post defensive player..  Who doesn't bite on all the euro junk

I can't wait to see him play for us, I think this is when sending picks to Europe to develop worked in our favor.  The timing is perfect after a good Olympics, he should fit in great with our chemistry.

I like Freeland too and i think he'll be an asset. But.............. Haywood is damned tempting. I hope i eat my words too and quiet as kept, id love to see him start a C. JJ i need coming off the bench. I hear also that Price has been doing the damn thing in practice. He can only make Dame better.

Considering we don't really have another point guard on the roster (Nolan's a 2) and I don't think we want to be in the position to have to play Ronnie Price a ton of minutes, I don't think it will be necessary for Dame to play any other position than point guard.

My thing is...why would we want for Dam to play a different position when we need him to learn the point guard position and develop as our future point guard? Sure, it would be nice to have him in a position where he can do what he does best but at the same time we drafted him as the next big player at the point. We have plenty of players who can play at the shooting guard spot and let Damien play where he needs to be.

    I think a 3 guard set with
    Lillard
    Smith
    Matthews
    Lamarcus
    Hickson

would be fast and reminiscent of Detroit in the 80's with JJ being the tough.

We all know Damien is our first string pt guard, my point was SOME shooting guard. There will be mismatches and times when Ronnie Price will be the better defender and Damien is a pure scorer. I see value in occassionally slotting him at the 2 with a much better defensive stopper in Price at the 1. Damien has stated defense is his weakest skillset and it's Price's best skill so if you're trying to contain Russell Westbrook and saddled with foul trouble at the 2...Lillard can shoot lights out. Not trying to define him as a natural 2, but can see an advantage in using him in that role when needed.

Good point Riverman especially with the defensive side of containing the opposing point guard and letting Damian fire at will

Wow some serious high hopes for JJ there.

@Cailin Isn''t a little ironic that the Heat are on pace to win a second straight NBA title despite being the worst rebounding team statistically in the NBA this season.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
