SEATTLE (AP) -- Chris Hansen, the investor trying to build a new arena and bring the NBA back to Seattle, says the City Council's demands for a renegotiated memorandum of understanding on the proposed building pushed his investment group past where they were first willing to go.

But they decided it was in the best interest of the community to invest even more.

Hansen spoke Thursday afternoon at a bar in Seattle's Pioneer Square, shortly before an event where Hansen has invited fans to come celebrate the agreement and have their first beer on him.

The renegotiated agreement was formally announced by members of the council Tuesday. It still must receive full approval from the City Council and the King County Council.

But the agreement now gives Hansen the support he needs to start pursuing any available NBA franchises.

The top five movable teams right now:
    1. Sacramento Kings- ownership sucks and they are really making no effort on a new deal. Also wouldn't be as big of a blow because of the 3 other teams already in California.
    2. Charlotte Bobcats- Michael Jordan got his hands full, and the organization is barely staying afloat with the lack of attendance.
    3. Milwaukee Bucks-Another team who has low attendance. Just not a lot of basketball fans in Wisconsin.
    4. Memphis Grizzlies- This is decreasing now, but the ownership was weak, but with another star (justin timberlake) partially buying the team will boost revenue again.

those are really the only teams that could move. If I were Seattle, with the young players, Sacramento is the best and easiest to pursue. Sac fans have other teams to choose from to be fans of like the Warriors

That would be pretty exciting, having the rivalry of the Liquid Sunshine back in the NBA :) I think you're right on the money with the potential teams to move and Sacramento being most likely, but personally I'd like Monta Ellis and the Bucks to head this way. On the other hand, imagine what it could do for enlarging our market-size if both Michael Jordan and Phil Knight were up in the northwest?

just wait til after this lackluster season, the Blazers will be at the top of that list and ready for the move up north.
think of it as Paul Allens final gift to the city of Portland.

Trade rights to kostas Papanikolau and 2 2nds for the 13th pick. If mavs are planning on drafting an international player to stash, we might as well give kostas to mavs, because theyre trying to clear space to get dh12 or cp3 to play for them. The...

I have Batum below Harris Butler Kirilenko and Kwahi Leonard. Probably won''t take long before he below Otto Porter and Shabazz Muhammad as well.
