    Ty Lawson?

The NW Sports Beat took a look at some best and worst case scenarios in regards to how Damian Lillard's career will shape out. The best-case was Derrick Rose while the worst-case Jerryd Bayless. Chances are he won't be as great as Rose (I mean, he was the youngest NBA MVP winner) but won't be as average Bayless, either.

Their realistic comparison for Lillard is Ty Lawson.
Lawson is forming into an All-Star. He’s one of the fastest point guards in the league, his shooting ability is dangerous beyond the arch and his scoring-passing combination is ideal for a point guard carrying the load.

Lillard doesn’t have the speed of Lawson, but he certainly has the athleticism to make plays in the open court.

Lawson is a budding young point guard who wouldn't surprise any if he ended up as a multiple All-Star. But would you be happy if a player of Lawson's caliber was Lillard's ceiling? Personally, I wouldn't be unahppy with that at all. But, this team does need a superstar and I'm hinging my hopes to Lillard that he will one day end up as that type of player. You?

I like Lawson. He's quick, a decent shooter, but most importantly, he's efficient. Having said that, do i compare him to D. Lill ? Absolutely not. Lillard has more tools than Lawson as of right now, so his ceiling is much higher. Lawson has had the benefit of a few years under his belt. Factor in that its been all under the tutelage of Coach Karl in Denver and you understand his growth and maturity. Lillard is going to have the opportunity to learn from one of the best offensive minds there is in the game. Least we forget, after Roy went nuts against Dallas in that playoff game, the next game was definitely different. They certainly made a lot of adjustments on both sides of the ball. Rich Carlisle is a great coach. One of the reasons he's a great coach is because of his extra eyes on the sideline. Most notably, Stotts'. The size of our team will see us become more of a team defense kind of system. Ala Boston, who just swarms. San Antonio, swarms. We must swarm. Everyone to the boards. Every one on the rock.Lillard is going to be better than Lawson. It all depends on two factors. Health and coachability. He's already a humble kid thirsting for knowledge. Personally, id love to see him become a mold of Andre Miller. Except faster. Just as strong. Develop a post up game. He's already ten times the shooter of Dre'.

Yeah I would be happy if he turned into Lawson. But I do think Lillard is a way better shooter and can create his shot better. His numbers might be the same but I think Dame gets hit points way different. A lot of Lawson points come from fast break. Dame can do that but he reminds me of Brandon Jennings (better shot selection tho) but gets a lot of points from the perimeter. But Lillard can also attack the basket and get to the line at ease. So he is a mix of Jennings and a John Wall to me. Only Lillard is the smarter then those 2

From what I saw of Mr. Lillard I doubt if he turns into J.Bayless, his court smarts are much better now than Bayless's are now. Frankly I would be disappointed if his ceiling is Lawless. I think if his ceiling is Andre Miller I think I would be ok with that. Andre just did not have a team to play on and him and Roy I do not think got along. But I do have high hopes for Mr. Lillard to be much better than that.

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

Thanks Siccolo, not to knock on Bosh. I think if he was the number one option he would go back to being a beast. I miss making jokes about him playing for the RAPTORS. He is a great player.

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...

I watched Shabazz at the combine and he was a poor shooter.  In fact he did  so bad he did not even show up for drills in day two.  He may be a scorer not a shooter.  If he throws up enough shots he scores.  If someone looks a...
