    PG: Damian Lillard, Ronnie Price

SG: Wesley Matthews, Elliot Williams, Nolan Smith, Sasha Pavlovic, Will Barton

    SF: Nicolas Batum, Victor Claver

PF: LaMarcus Aldridge, J.J. Hickson, Jared Jeffries, Joel Freeland, Luke Babbitt

    C: Meyers Leonard

Something is bothering me about this list.
If we keep Sasha, he is smart enough to play the three spot because he's been in the league 9yrs. I think.Nolan, as much as i like the kid, is slowly creeping into J.Bayless territory. Im just such a diehard fan, with roots planted firmly in loyalty, i just cant see giving up on some of our guys. But... i know its inevitable that we do eventually shake a few of these cats.
Lets start with the shake candidates.
Babbit, while i've always like him personally, will unfortunately end up as Dan Dickau's replacement.
Jeffries,Sasha, and ? will be thrown in by the trade deadline to acquire something juicy. I just dont know who or from where they'll come. Two people on our current roster are going to do big thangs this season. Not who you expect but from the bench to compliment Hickson. Making our bench a force also.Im envisioning Barton as a better new and improved version of ....wait for iiiiiittt... Walt " The Wizard " Williams. I can see Barton rockin the long socks, ala Michael Cooper and Walt.
Kaleb Canales. If you're from Rip City, you dig KC. He is a man of the people. Now that he has the responsibility of defensive coach, i know he will take as much pride in that task as he has any task put before him. When i think of defense in this day and age, i think Thibideau. I think Boston. Collective effort, fingers making a fist. Does our boy have that ? If he does we're Golden. If this team buys into his get after it approach on D, HOLY OPTIMISM BATMAN !!
The best all around player/leader on your team has to be recognized. The Capo of Capo's has to be acknowledged and given the reigns. A coach isnt a coach until he has a coach on the floor. The day that Lillard looks over at Stotts and not a word exchanges between them and Lillard does something Lillardesque.... Chalupas !!!
They're sleeping on us my people. They're underestimating our small town chances. They act like Davids, but quietly they cheer for Goliath. But this is Rip City !!! The Liquid Sunshine State where we slap the taste out of the mouth of skepticism and doubt.

I really like the idea of trading players for high draft picks if the team is not meshing by the 1/2 way point of the season. I want to keep our draft picks from this year and E-Will but I am not against trading Batum, Matthews or Aldridge if the return is huge. (like Aldridge to Charlotte for Kidd-Gilchrist and 2013 1st rounder and 2015 1st rounder) or (Matthews to Houston for T-Jones or D-Motiejunas and a 2013 1st rounder) or (Batum to Toronto for T-Ross, J-Valanciunas, 2013 1st rounder and 2015 1st rounder) or (Batum to Golden State for H-Barnes and 2013 1st rounder and) or (Lamarcus to New Orleans for A-Davis, E-Gordon and 2013 1st rounder) These are the type of big returns we should look for in future trades.

Batum can be dealt after 12-15 unless it is to Minnesota which cannot happen until 1 year after he resigned with Portland

We really need a veteran center to tutor Meyers...unfortunately, it may have to wait until next summer to happen. Outside of players we aren't going to move (Aldridge, Lillard, Leonard), we just don't have any real tradeable assets to get a team to bite on a big for small trade, which is typically a no-no for teams.

And who is actually even worth looking at ? Greg Monroe. I know, broken record, but he would have helped us tremendously in the middle.

Morrow... uh... not feelin'' that so much.  This is sad 2 say but Babbit is a better overall player (w/ rebounding, assists, & especially on defense) v. Morrow the thing Morrow''s got over Babbit is, ONLY when these guys r WIDE OPEN, Mor...

Also, I said it on Oden, sign him to a Veteran''s minimum and a heavy performance bonus based on games played.

Brendan Wright would be a good big to have though. He can play the 4-5, blocks shots, and posted a high PER last season.

I dont care if we get Iggy as long as we trade either Batum or Matthews for a really good Center. Iggy will get around 8-11 million a year.

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
