Roy to Timberwolves? Will Portland try to get hime back when available?

    I think Roy should be a blazer for life. He can't play here for the next two years so I guess it's ok if he plays in Minny until he can come back.

    I agree with Foul that Brandon Roy is supposed to be one of those players that stays with his team, he should be a Blazer for life because I want to believe that he's about Heart and the Game and the Fans, not the almighty Paycheck or Celebrity.

    But going to Minnesota doesn't make any sense to me at all. Not only is he going to one of our biggest rivals (in a similar climbing state as us and therefore in very direct competition), but I don't understand why, if he was told one year ago that his knees were in serious jeopardy if he continued to play at the NBA level, causing him to retire, WHY does he possibly think anything has changed? I haven't heard any news about him going across to Europe for the stem cell treatment, and even if he had, his knees wouldn't be near ready yet, it's just not enough time. So if all he had to do was take a year off and get healthy, why retire? We kept Oden around for YEARS waiting for him to get rehabbed and game-ready, does Roy not think we would have waited for him for a year?!? Doesn't make sense.

    I guess it comes down to "If he only needed a year off to get healthy, why did he retire and come back for another team instead of sticking it out with us?" or "If he's not entirely healthy yet, then why does he think it's better to do more damage and play after only a year as opposed to taking more time off and coming back to the team that supported him the whole time?" It feels like his retirement was either a sneaky technique to get away from Portland (doesn't make sense), or he's being a fool, because he loves the game too much, and he's only going to put himself back in a dangerous situation for his longterm health, and that's not any good for the Blazers or for Brandon Roy.

    Very confused by it all, and I've heard very little about the situation... and worst of all, my #7 is stuck on the wall until he comes back in the Black and Red. Of alllllll my jerseys, it was my favorite...

    What he was asked that made him retire was if he wanted to be able to walk with his grandchildren. That's when he said he realized that his knee problems wouldn't end with his career. Apparently he no longer thinks that is an issue.

    The irony is that Minn. was who actually drafter him. We gave them Randy Foye in exchange. Roy will forever be the man around here. If he balls at a high level for the next two years,and he wants to return, i say leave the door unlocked for him.

    Roy is and will be one of the great Blazers, but his time in P-Town is done. He'll play a mediocre year in Minny, where he will realize that his decison to return to the game was futile. His knees are gone, he is no longer an allstar, maybe a role player at best. Love the guy, but its over, I have moved on, portland needs to move on from Roy fever, and look towards the future.

    Barton has some potential he is too thin at the moment. He is also a little out of control at times, which he improved a lot as the season we on. His shooting though was just dreadful at times which is why I pushed for him to go to the d league so...

    Calm down rip most of his rosters lately have had a few of the same guys so that is an upgrade over he previous attempts that always contradicted each other.

    joint option for year three at like 8 million. Then if he works out you got him for a bargain for 2-3 years and if not it costs only 1.2 million for next year.
