Why the cheap shots directed toward Minnesota and the Twin Cities from Neil?

As a resident of MSP, I love it here.  I can tell you, in 34 years, I have never once suffered frostbite.  I have been the recipient of a few mosquito bites.  However, on my visits to Oregon, I met more than just a few mosquitoes.  I love Portland and, as a visitor, I can't imagine blindsiding your city or your state.  Unfortunately, Neil displays arrogance and complete ignorance in his characterization of the Twin Towns, and the state of Minnesota.  I think both towns share a huge advantage when it comes to music, food, art, personal recreation, and business climate.  He should visit our town.  Maybe check out a Twins game, Vikings game or Wild game.  I do agree with him regarding his "Wrath of Khan" quotation.  Kahn is dragging this out as long as possible for a reason.  However, if Portland deals Batum after all the brazen talk from Neil, the Wrath wins.

I think what we have that the Twin Cities apparently does not is a sense of humor. Here in the Liquid Sunshine State, we're a little more thick skinned. It was a joke, im sure he meant nothing by it. I digress.... we're keeping Nic, so its moot.Without adding Williams,Ridnour and a first round pick to the mix, Minnesota has nothing to offer.

Minnesotans came up with the movie Fargo.  Skin is plenty thick here, hence the resistance to frostbite.  My response to his comments was meant to be humorous, yet equally sarcastic. Or Minnesota Nice, as we like to call it.  I think you're keeping Nick too.  However, I'm still curious to see what pans out.  I predict Williams and/or Ridnour will be added, and maybe 2nd round pick.  If the brazen brass in Portland accepts that deal, Khan wins.  A first round pick will not be part of the deal.  I like the Roy jersey.

Thanks. Roy was the man for us. Hated he fell victim to his knee circumstances. Even if they add Williams to the deal, i dont think Olsey will budge. I dont think Batum is worth the offer. He may be later, but certainly isnt now. The fact that Minn., offered him that much without actually having the chips as of yet to make it happen speaks volumes as to the lack of business ettiquette in their front office. Thats like going to an auction and bidding on a Rembrandt, without the doe to make it happen. Its obscene.Im not a fan of trading within our division either. I for one sure as hell dont want to see Nic four times a season.

Same here.  Like Roy as a person, alot.  As far as the Wolves are concerned, thank God his contract is heavy with performance incentives.  We agree.  That's Khan though.  All the way back to his days with the Pacers.  He definitely has a rep.  He's known as the idiot savant around these parts. Technically, he's smarter than all of us when it comes to the bottom line, but he's socially inept.  There's no "front office" in this town when it comes to the Wolves.  It's Kahn.  But, he's EXTREMELY shrewd, and now his job is on the line.  Interesting side-note.  Not sure if you're a hockey fan.  The Wild signed two of the most coveted free agents (Zach Parise and Ryan Suter) in NHL history for a total of 196,000,000 over 13 years just a few days before the Wolves announced the offer for Batum and signed Roy.  The Wild and the Wolves have been under heavy scrutiny.  The Wild delivered, big time.  Now David is feeling the warm air working it's way down his neck.

I think in the end the offer will look like Williams, Pekovic, and a 1st rounder or at least a 2nd rounder. We will be a little stacked at PF but that's ok it's a long season.

Thanks!  It feels like the Wolves are always dealing with the Blazers, so I figured I might as well sign up.  Plus I still have fond memories of the Clyde Drexler era, 1983-95.  We didn't have a team here for six of those years, so the Blazers were one of two teams I followed.  I was born the year the Blazers won their championship, so I can't say I remember that.

I spent my youth summers working my uncle's farm in Minnesota although I grew up in Iowa...the wind chill is brutal and my grandfather and youngest uncle died of frostbite hunting ducks there. I can make fun of weather conditions in Oregon where I've lived for most of my adult life and laugh about it. Neil was being sarcastic, also probably upset that Minn didn't deal straight up with the Batum offer as we did with the Hibbert offer. We withdrew the offer when it was clear Indy would match...can't say that for Minnesota. Olshey in my opinion is a pretty good poker player.

Rumors have shown that the Rockets are very interested in Dwight Howard and that the interest is mutual.

    I''d trade for Asik.

Sanders better shotblocker, better dunker and around the rim, Asik better defensively. I think Asik will have the better career.
