I saw someone post on twitter about Victor and I couldn't find the tweet, but I thought I heard something about Olshey working to get him over here.  So I did a little search online and found an article talking about his team coming to a separation agreement, allowing him to join Portland this year:

doesn't look like he'll be here soon enough to participate in the summer league as that team's already been announced.... but it'd be nice if there was a way to get him here and on that team.    :)

I just hope he plays better than he did in Europe for an offensive guy his shooting was terrible.

it's kinda my worry that these euro's are going to end up being waste of draft picks.  If Batum's back, with Babbitt, Barton, and Matthews, there are not going to be a lot of balls for Claver... is he going to cry like Rudy or just go back to Europe?   Will he have any trade value?   Maybe that's why they're bringing them over b/c of our lack of success in free agency, the need for depth.  But somebody's going to get forgotten this year and I fear Claver's just going to end up being dead weight.

I think freeland has a better opportunity b/c right now all we've really got on the frontcourt is LA, Meyers, and Thomas.  Maybe Hickson, we'll see, I hope to hell.  But freeland could actually get a lot of minutes while Meyers is learning. So maybe he'll be a pleasant surprise.  But I haven't seen the guy play, so I honestly don't know what to expect.  Numbers on a page don't tell me what he brings.  I hope he can set picks, pass, and block shots.  I hope he has a long wingspan so he complements LA.  If he's more of a soft PF like Aldridge, then again, he's probably only going to play spot duty while LA rests or is in foul trouble.   I just don't know his style.

Excited to be here, long time since he was picked in the draft.

Olshey says he's a strong defender.  Victor himself says he's fast, can shoot.  He was roomate with Rudy on international team, so he learned a lot from him.

Victor says he's healthy and ready to go.

Rudy told Victor city isn't big but he can find whatever he wants and he said the Rose Garden is one of the best arena's in the NBA.

Victor's excited, but not nervous.  Been waiting for this day since he was drafted.  As a player he feels he's done about all he can in Europe and feels he's ready for the next step.

He's improved his speed since being there.  I can't understand all he says.

Pronounces last name Clavaarrr (twirls the R a bit).

I think he just said he's going back to Europe tomorrow?  playing on the Olympic team?

So he may not be on the summer league team...

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
