Alright I saw this piece of info on Facebook. If you haven't added the Trailblazers to your FB you should because you get interesting info about the team.

Anyways, I heard a lot of the pros and cons of a trade that would involve Batum going to MIN, and Iguodala to Portland, with extra players added in there to make it work. My conclusion to the discussions is, Iguodala is a better player than Batum and a better fit for our team moving forward.

***Cons/negative comments I saw about trade:

Iggy is older-- True, but he is one year older than Aldridge and we know what we will get from him, and we aren't hoping for some "All Star great talent" to blossom from batum's role player game play. We get the All-star straight up at 28.

Iggy will be gone after this next year because he has a player option and will want to leave-- Ok.. You can't predict he will hate it here. If things work out we will have Lillard, Matthews, LA, and Hibbert to surround him. That is a damn good team, and pretty affective defensivly. Worst case senerio, he hates it and wants to leave, and we have a huge contract come off the books, and we are again players in FA.

someone actually said-->batum is way better at defense-- :) Yah.. No. Iggy was 2nd All-defensive 2nd team in 2011.. not a while ago like 2006. Last year! Against arguably better SF talent in the eastern conference.

Batum has a ton of potential and we can't give up on that-- I like Batum, and he is a fun player to watch but does he really have that much potential? I see his ceiling being where Iggy is now. Hell every player comes into the NBA with potential. The players that get paid big money are the ones that display it out on the floor. I just see Iggy as Batum, all grown up and ready to win a championship.

****Pros/things I believe make Iggy awesome for us

Avgs 5 assists per game at SF-- I don't really need to say much about that. It speaks for it self.

Avgs 6 rebounds per game-- I could say see ^above, but I will elaborate. Having a SF that is active on the boards allows your team to have extra chance on offense, or stop a possession for the opponent. Normally the PF's and C's in the league get 6+ rebs a game but to have that kinda output at SF is invaluable. (side note.. Batum avgs 4.6 rebs and 1.4 asts)

Iggy is a LOT better on Defense!-- let compare steals and blocks.. Iggy: 0.5 blocks, 1.7 steals/// Batum: 0.7 blocks, 0.8 steals. Batum does edge out Iggy on blocks but he has less than half as many steals. Iggy is very active on both ends of the court and doesn't quit. With the help of bigs to clog up the paint, I could see Iggy being even better on defense considering he can take more chances here that he couldn't with the weak front line of the 76ers.

Last pro, His motor-- He has been on a 76ers team that has had some VERY rough years. This last season they final had a good run into the playoffs, but even their run was kind of a surprise. Through all the good and bad years, Iggy's stats stayed pretty level and balanced. His Points/game has dropped, but his team was playing better and his scoring was not needed. This guy plays hard, smart, has only missed a little over 20 games in 8 seasons, and is a leader on both ends of the court.

I put my vote in for any trade that involves bringing Iggy to Rip city. The guy is a star and will make more of an impact on our entire team than Batum has in 4 years.

I'm a huge fan of Batum and happy to hear that we're giving his agent the finger and keeping Nico in Portland. BUT, if there were any players that I think I'd be satisfied to take in place of Batum, Andre Iguodala is one of them.

I am glad people agree. Even though I have love for Batum, Iggy would be a better piece moving forward.

That keeps me up at night as well. I think because when he shot in the low post, he would is and back the guy down, and Stotts wants to avoid ISOs and much as possible. BUT WHY if he is so good at it? LMA is a really really smart player, and he kn...

Maniac he does not need play in Summer League. He does need to toughen up a lot and become more efficient.

That''s because Bosh has a good defensive coach. Also, Bosh is a more effective mid range shooter than LMA, because he only takes good wide open shots. I think if he was the number one option and took as many shots as LMA, or had to set up his own...
