I know people love to point out the Spurs and Thunder as great role models and while it might be hard to vote against San Antonio, I want to suggest the Jazz for this honor.

    Here is why?
The Jazz were good enough to make the playoffs last year and look poised to do so again this year.
Many teams make the playoffs so why are they special? Well look at their payroll. Currently there team is pretty much complete and they have 0 guaranteed money beyond next season. Of course we all know that Favors, Kanter, Burks and Hayward will have their options picked up but even then that is only 4 rookie scale contracts going into a summer where they can offer 2 max deals and still be under the cap.
However, everyone knows how much value expiring contracts will have next season as well so the Jazz could reload for the future easily or take their chance with the current roster. That certainly seems like a better situation to be in than the one the Thunder are currently facing.

Did the Jazz do it right or is their a team better positioned for long term success.

I must have  jinxed them cause they just went out and made a stupid deal for Marvin Williams.

Ouch, but what team has the record for consecutive playoff appearances that would be Utah.

I was more specifically referring to how well they constructed their current team.

This team does seemed poised to compete for a long time. That is unless they keep trading talent for people like Marvin Williams.

So I guess looks are conceiving.

Utah i initially respected because of how hard they always played. Specifically J. Sloan. I always had a particular fondness for coaches who played. But... todays players, not all, but a large percentile are soft. D. Howard, what a punk. Deron Williams. Ditto. That goes for any sniveler who cries about wanting to be traded.Batum, dude become an all starbefroe trying to deman a raise. I want ballers, not talkers.

If looks are "conceving" then I hope there is a OBGYN around the Utah area.

Point being you can do a lot worse than Favors, Kanter, Burks, and Hayward and 2 max contracts. Then again this is Utah so not sure anyone would want to live there.

Until the Jazz can turn Milsap and Jefferson into actual assets to help fill the void on the wings and at point guard, they will still be an average team out West. I love Favors and Kanter but their backcourt is going to get shook this upcoming season.

Your missing the point though Dustin right now they can offer two max deals next year to go with Hayward, Favors and Kanter. If they could turn those two max deals into CP3 and James Harden imagine how scary they would be.  You would be looking at a team of Favors, Kanter, Burks, Hayward, Harden, CP3 and 2 first round draft picks next year. Plus the potential for more if they can get trade exceptions and picks for Millsap and Jefferson or Mo Williams.

You''re right. They should dump Monta though. I was thinking maybe the Rockets could use the number 1 pick to get the lakers to do a sign and trade for D12.

Batum is a great fit for their system and is young. Plus a lottery pick and potentially 2 other first rounders would give them a ton of flexibility.

If they say no we move on but at least offering the deal publicly will...
