Looks like from news reports that OKC is low balling Scott Brooks.  From news reports he has Portland on the radar.

Good coach! Gets the most out of his players, and would be an excellent fit in Rip City!

That would be AWESOME.  Who wouldn't want a coach that just got a young team to the NBA Finals? We could still keep Kaleb in the department but I don't see how you could pass on someone like that...

For the type of team that I think we're building, I think Brooks' style probably fits most naturally... but let's also not completely forget that almost every if not literally every single player on our roster before the draft has endorsed keeping Kaleb Canales as head coach...

Brooks has the credibility and has proven he can do EXACTLY what the Blazers need to get done.

Canales is not ready.  When guys like Kobe, Howard etc. give an opinion on a coach you listen.  The Blazers don't have that kind of juice.  They may like him and he has a lot going for him, but now is not the time for a project at the coaching spot.

I'm really bummed that we lost Monty. I really think that Filp Saunders would be a good coach. He definitely maximized potential out of his Detroit teams. If you watch those games he really new how to use pieces like Rip and Prince(Batum and Matthews) Sheed(Aldridge) and a scoring point like Billups(Lillard). He has had 7 50+win seasons, and other than Garnett he never had a transcendent talent. The maturity of Washignton made it impossible for him to succeed there. Could you imagine going from that Detroit locker room to that day care?

I am not sure how good of a coach Brooks is because he had three great offensive players and they seemed to be more of a one on one or one on many team.  Last second plays seemed to be chaotic and one dimensional.

Why is no one mentioning former Coach of the Year, former Toronto Raptors head coach Sam Mitchell?

Jermaine O''Neal, Drazen, Z-Bo, Sheed (I know he was already a star but still). Also Drazen was buried under Drexler and Porter.

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.

Special K, aren''t you a cereal? And yes, Batum is expensive, but I think he''s worth it. Why would you take someone who isn''t is as good, just for less money. Then why don''t we take the worst possible player and pay him the least possible amoun...
