Has Greg Oden made his final impact on the Blazers?

    I'm watching Talkin' Ball right now. I've heard plenty of things about Andre Drummond as far as attitude, motor, risk, etc. Often, people are saying they don't want Portland to repeat the Oden mistake.

    Oden made everyone subconsciously Center-phobic, and I think that is going to have a HUGE negative impact on this franchise moving forward. The only similarity between Oden is risk and maybe their beards. Oden was a clear franchise center with a great motor and astronomical upside. Drummond's risk is about behavior and hard work, which is a completely different kind of risk than injury risk. It concerns me that everyone connected to or rooting for the Blazers is completely unwilling to take a risk on a Center ever again.

    It concerns you?? Well get over it, buddy. Drummond is not even a fraction as good as Greg Oden was in college, and I foresee him becoming a Kwame Brown type player. He is garbage, that is why we are reluctant to take him. Oh, and the fact that he COULD turn out to be an injury prone player factors in somewhat.

    We should sign Kaman and maybe a pick up a backup center with the 11th pick. Drummond is waaaay too risky. Sure, he's young, but so was Kwame Brown when he came into the league.

    I'm not saying we should draft Drummond. I want us to pick Lillard at #6. The conversation around it concerns me. If we never draft a high-upside center again, we'll never have a center of the future without trading away all our assets. That's my point.
