    *UPDATE* via Oregon Live-
Claver has addressed today's speculation on Twitter. According to google translate, Claver said: "I have read a lot of news today about my immediate future. It is true that my agents are listening Blazers proposals and that there is interest by both. But nothing is official yet and Valencia B will be the first to know when to take my decision."

CSNNW's Chris Haynes that Victor Claver, the 22nd overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, will leave Spain and report to Portland for the beginning of the season.

Here's Draft Express' write-up on Claver prior to the 09 Draft-
Claver was the definition of an opportunist before losing the vast majority of his season to a knee injury. Finishing at the rim at a 60% clip (very solid in the competitive Spanish ACB) and shooting 40% from three in catch and shoot situations, the 1988-born forward appeared to be turning the corner on his immense potential. Claver’s midrange game is still lacking, as evidenced by his .44 PPP on pull up jumpers, but the biggest concerns surrounding his game stem from the fact that he turned the ball over on 22.6% of his logged possession in half court settings and was fouled on only 6.4% of his shots, ranking him as the most turnover prone and the second-worst player at drawing fouls in our group. It’s pretty clear what he needs to work on the most this summer—his ball-handling skills. Considering the serious setback he endured, all Claver needs to do to keep his stock high going into next summer is prove that he hasn’t lost any of his considerable athleticism and continue shooting the ball at an excellent clip.
And of course, some highlights of Claver-

Pardon me if I do not get excited about a 41% shooter who could only manage to make 33% of his 3 pt attempts from the FIBA line which is almost 2 feet closer than the NBA 3 point line. We get a 6'10" forward who over plays passing lanes, could not manage 4 rebounds a game, does not get to the ft line and shoots only 61% when he gets there.

If Victor Claver comes over I hope it is just for trade value because he does not seem to plug a hole in the Blazers team.

Turnover prone? Worst in the group at getting to the line? Oh boy... yeah, I can't say I'm giddy right now.

    2 more questions:

    1. Who is Emilio Escudero? And why would he know about Claver's plans?

    2. Who pays 600K euros to play in the NBA?

I'll field that second one myself: a guy who is desperate and doesn't see is "big break" coming any other way.

Ok ok... I'll be nice. Maybe Rudy ruined my image of Spanish ballers.

Another guy with knee problems and poor ball handling skills.

I thought we were rebuilding not trying to duplicate last season.

Touche, cmeese. Ricky Rubio is great... I wonder if we could make a deal for him.

Wow some serious high hopes for JJ there.

@Cailin Isn''t a little ironic that the Heat are on pace to win a second straight NBA title despite being the worst rebounding team statistically in the NBA this season.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.
