Reopening discussion on Dante Cunningham based on his performance in the first Vegas game. I know for a lot of you this was your first chance to see him play, and it was definitely a good sampling of what he has to offer. He's a workhorse and the kinda guy you want on your team. Hah, I might be biased, but watching him step his game up last year at Nova, I'm convinced this kid has the strength and the willpower to compete at this level.

I dunno 'bout you folks, but from what I saw today, Martell and Outlaw are gonna have a hard time in practice against Dante Cunningham. This guy has great footwork, good hops, and a nice shooting touch. He actually went up there hackin' guys, trying to block shots. Not watching the action from outside the paint, with their arms in bunny hop position. Yeah, we now which Blazer(s) I'm talkin' about.

I would say Outlaw has his hands ful for that second PF spot, but I didn't see anything that told me the starting SF position is in jeopardy. What I saw was Dante adjusting to POOR defense. I didn't see anything that tells me he will be dropping 20 pts in an actual NBA game. Pooh was setting him up and the defense was just not adjusting properly. The thing that puts him above Outlaw is that when Dante shoots the mid-range jumper, you expect it to go in. When Outlaw shoots the jumper it is usually off balance and you HOPE it will go in. I also see that Dante is less afraid to go in and bang than Outlaw is, but I didn't see anything that tells me Outlaw couldn't still earn that spot over him. I think the guy I was most impressed with last night was Mike Rice. He actually kept trying to correct himself when he would mis-pronounce Jeter's (Jeh-ter's) name. He kept saying (Jee-ter) but would then correct himself. Not a typical Rice move, I was very impressed. Also, Eugene "Pooh" Jeter was stellar in last night's game. I hope he can keep it up, it would be nice to see him back home in Portland as the number 3 option at PG since it is looking more and more like Mills will not be ready for training camp and there for be staying a year in Australia, if not maybe Koponen can break the roster this year. We'll see how he plays in Eurobasket.

Nah uhhh a defensive center, a backup big either position I don''t care, an experienced wing, without having to give up any draft picks. I''d probably do this but I just don''t know for sure.

Rebounds are over rated and so is JJ

I completely agree he could be that voice on the court we need. Lamarcus just isn''t that guy and Damian can learn some on court leadership from him. A small lineup when we need a score bad of Dame, Wes, Paul, Nic, and Lamarcus would be potent.

I mean Damian might have not even been in the same area as them when it happened. Innocent until proven guilty

I would agree Harris seems more dynamic but Harkless looks pretty good as well.
