My Blazers Off Season Plan

    This is what I think the Blazers should do this off season. Right now we have about 30 million invested in 7 players: LaMarcus Aldridge(14m), Wesley Matthews(6.5m), Shawne Williams(3.1m), Luke Babbitt(1.8m), Kurt Thomas(1.3m), Elliot Williams(1.3m), Nolan Smith(1.3) and Jamal Crawford.
    In this year's draft we have 4 picks (6th, 11th, 40th and 41st)
    At 6th we hopefully draft Damian Lillard filling in our need at PG.
    At 11th I think we should draft John Henson.
    I think this is where the Blazers should take Scott Machado and then with the 41st take Kris Joesph who play the small forward position or Kyle O'Quinn.
    The Blazers could also trade Jamal Crawford in a package for more picks or just let him walk. So after the draft Portland would have added two point guards, a small forward and a power forward.
    As for our free agents I would keep Thabeet, JJ Hickson, Batum and then let ever one else walk.
    Then during the off season we would want fill our need at center and point guard. So we make offers on Javale McGee(Center) and Shannon Brown (plays SG and PG). McGee would take about 10m roughly to sign and Brown would probably 3m. So that would bring us up to about 62ish assuming we sign Batum for 13m and Hickson for 5ish and Thabeet to 2m (not sure if that is what he's worth)
    So our team looks like:
    PG=Lillard, Machado, Smith
    SG=Brown, Matthews, Williams
    SF= Batum, Joesph, Babbitt
    PF= Hickson, Aldridge
    C= McGee, Thomas, Thabeet
    Any other ideas??

    I Love the idea of drafting Scott Machado in the second round. If we draft Henson and sign Hickson then we would be have too many 4s. I think portland should package Jammal to Minnesota for Derrick Williams and the 18 pick. Then we would draft Fab Melo and Zeller with the 11th and 18 pick. Then we could look to get a solid SG via free agency.

    Lillard/machado/Smith
    Mayo/Fields/Matthews/Williams
    Batum/D.Williams
    Aldridge/HIckson
    Zeller/Melo

    If we cant get D.Will we could get Rinour or any other assets the Timberwolves have.

    McGee is a headcase. Terrible player and locker-room presence. No thank you.

    Would you guys sign Brandon Roy is he came back this year?

    @Jonthorpe would you sign Hibbert?

    @siccolo I don't think the Twolves would let Williams go. I think we would have a better chance at getting Beasley(RFA).
