Same folks who will go to their grave saying Batum is an all-star (despite the fact he's a only a starter by virtue of being the last man standing) now won't invest 3-4 years in a guy who could be the next Bynum or Howard? Please.  The draft is always a risk as Portland knows better than anybody.  You don't pass on what could very well be the next dominant big man in the NBA to pickup a PG.  Particularly when the free agent market is so healthy for the next 2 seasons.  If you need instant gratification, pickup Nash and take Drummond.

Felton was a disaster last season, but improved late in the season with the shakeup in the locker room and the coach.  The real crisis is at center, where we are looking at Freeland, thrilla, and LMA.  None of these are viable options, and none of the fit into the rebuild.

Oh, and this is a rebuild by the way.  The term "reload" is a bid to hang on to season ticket holders.  The organization will never admit it, but they have 0 aspirations of being a playoff team for 1-3 seasons.  That's why we have an intern at head coach, and why we should be willing to take on a project with an unlimited ceiling.  Worst case, Drummond can't deliver on his potential and you deal him to somebody who thinks they can turn it around.  Which is precisely what we should have done with Batum BTW.  Taking risks is part of sports, and so is knowing when to move on.  Get this one right Blazers.

Drummond was the best defender in college basketball using PPP stats. Of course his offense in post situations was the 10 worst in basketball among players with 75 or more opportunities.

Great defender, average rebounder, good dunker and transition threat, poor half court offensive player, ft% makes him a 4th quarter liability. Lots of potential but their is too much baggage for me to take him at #6.

Lillard completely... You don't get a guy this high to wait 3 years for him to blossom... Get the guy who impressed in the workout and move on to thinking about 11. It's a no brainer for me

So what you're saying is, Portland will win a championship within 3 years if they draft Lillard?  Or you don't care how good Drummond is (or how good he will be) because you don't have the patience to watch him improve?

Not sure your point.  I suppose you're justifying drafting Lillard because he's more polished offensively and ready to shine now.

So just lemme ask, if Lillard is taken at 6, who does portland take at 11?

And if Portland plans on getting Nash or maybe even Chris Paul, would you change your opinion of who should be taken at 6?

Chris paul isnt leaving the clipps and why would nash come here when he could go to NY or miami. Id love if he did but i dont think hell be a blazer next year unless there are major changes. Lillard is the way to go watch him average about 20 if he starts next year and 13 coming off the bench. Lillard is the way to go and pick  leonard, henson, pj3, or moultre at 11. Not zeller though.

I like Lillard but expecting him to put up 20 points per game next year is a bit much. He is more likely to be a 13 point per game starter in his rookie year

our gm is responsible for paul becoming a clip and it's not out of the realm of possibility that he tries to get him again.  And Nash has already said portland's on his short list and he also publicly said he don't care about going to a team just because of a chance of winning a championship... he wants to PLAY and he's going to go to a team that will play him.  Since Portland has no PG, he'd have every opportunity to play.  The easy prediction is that he won't be a blazer b/c the odds are stacked, but it's a real possibility.
