I am pretty confused by the trade that just occurred.
Washington receives Trevor Ariza, Emeka Okafor
New Orleans receives Rashard Lewis and pick #46

With Washington having Nene, Blatche, Vesley and now Okafor the likelihood that they take Thomas Robinson is gone. That leaves Washington likely taking Bradley Beal.

With MKG likely going number 2 to Charlotte, and Harrison Barnes now going #4 to Cleveland that leaves Robinson available at 5. Is he someone we consider trading up to acquire?

from the tweets i've been reading, washington giving up Lewis opens up a higher chance they'll take Beal at #3 over MKG. this is under the scenario of charlotte taking Robinson, which most 'Cats fans seem to think they will (i would, if i were the 'Cats). if Charlotte doesn't take Robinson and takes MKG, then the wizards have a choice to make between Robinson and Beal. all the reports are saying that cleveland wants Beal at #4.

all of it really depends on what the Bobcats do at #2, as it did before. charlotte is the wild card in the whole mess; it will be much easier to predict how the draft plays out after charlotte makes their pick (which i'm guessing they will keep).

That trade makes no sense on the Wizards part because they could've amnestied Lewis and now they have 2 bad contracts and the got Okafor at a position where the didn't have a need at (Booker, Blatche, Vesely, and Nene are all big men that deserve playing time).  I think they have a few more moves left and who knows what they do.

T-Rob will go #2 and this makes Beal a lock to go #3. I think the draft could take a turn at 4. Does Cleveland go with Barnes or MKG?

I think Cleveland will go with Barnes leaving MKG to go after number 4.  We should see if there is some way to get hold of #5 while keeping #6.  Mkg along with either Lilliard, Waiters, or Ross.

nene could play pf, okafer at center, and ariza at pf, beal at sg, and wall. none of the players are scorers outside beal (john wall more of a passer and ariza takes lots of bad shots), but the lineup is a good defensive lineup, and they will fill the lineup (and they can still amnesty blatches ugly contract)

Hey Kass, I've seen many of your posts, but who do you want Portland to take at 6?  I've heard your apprehension towards Lillard, but haven't really heard who you want Portland to take.

And do you watch a lot of college ball?

I am not so sure Charlotte takes T-Rob at number 2 with 20 million invested in Thomas, Diop, Mullens, and Boyombo. He could go there but I am not thinking it is the lock everyone else does.

I dont know if I am misinformed or if the article I was reading is, but it was talking about the teams using the amnesty waiver. I was under the impression you couldn't do that if they are traded.

I do not think we should move up to get MKG because I think MKG will slide to number 5 or 6.

Foul you are correct amnesty cannot be used on traded players, New Orleans can waive Lewis if they want since his contract is non guaranteed but they would still owe him 13.7 million.

@cmeese47: i think charlotte does take Robinson at #2 and i would not be surprised if they deal Thomas and/or Diop. in the end, they probably don't pass up on Robinson with the thought of pairing him up with Biyombo, who is considered a major part of their rebuilding picture. even with the dollars they have tied up with the front line, they really wouldn't be adding all that much with Robinson's rookie contract. of course, the bobcats could use help at sf or sg where they currently have Maggette and Henderson, respectively. that's why i think it'll be Robinson, but can't be definite on that; probably two-thirds a chance of them doing so.

@boomtown: to be honest, i don't have a clear want at #6, though in my first mock draft i had the blazers taking Drummond. rather than a want, that was based on who i thought we'd take rather than a want. as for watching college basketball, in my dorm we often hang out in the rec room which, during the season, always has the tv on to a game. so yes, i'd say i watch quite a bit.

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
