Chauncey Billups

    The Blazers should have Chauncey be our mentor to Damian Lillard or another young PG. Billups is also a great leader and is younger than Nash, so he still has a few years left in him to be a mentor and locker room leader. He will also be cheaper than Nash as well.

    Chauncey loves the clippers. That and he has already said that he does not wish to go back to a rebuilding team and mentor more players. He wants to play for a contender so tough luck for us!

    This. Unfortunately. I would have loved to have Billups mentor a guy like Lillard and Olshey loves the guy as well, but at this stage in Chauncey's career, he wants to play for a deep postseason run and I really can't blame him.

    Oh, so is Nash really our best option in free agency to mentor Lillard? I don't think the Blazers would try to get Miller back. I don't see any other good players to mentor him besides Nash now.

    Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
