i feel like portland should bring back andre, he always had the poise to help young point gaurds like nolan, johnny, or lillard (if we bring him in) but andre was a leader, he wasn't afraid to yell to get people to listen and he knew what he was doing! what are your opinions on this? plus hes cheaper then nash

I like Dre'. Solid, poised, and knows his way around 90 ft.. He'd make a great teacher, but i would prefer Nash.

Nash is definitely better but also more expensive, dre' shouldn't be ruled out because we could resign datum and hickson and have money to sign rookies/increase hence productivity, I also think blazers should bring in harden

You mean trading him for someone who turned out to be a complete flop. Yah need to apologize for that, pay him and define his role clearly, a no trade clause would be smart.

He's not coming back to Portland, They never really wanted him, he was a consolation prize for us that year in FA. We benched him for Steve Blake (love the guy but he's nowhere near the player dre is). Then like he said gave up a first rounder to swap him with a bust. Besides from what I hear he loves being back in Denver and they want to keep him. Nolan Smith can be a capable back-up next year, hopefully.

I hate that you speak the truth foul. Andre Miller was the man trading him was stupid especially since we were not committing long term to Felton, the point was to get younger and be better in a few years. Well that plan might still work but it will not be with Felton so we lost Miller and we lost Farried and got Nolan Smith and a one bad season from Felton. Talk about a waste.

We gambled. We lost. Everyone is attributing the downfall of this season to the loss of Roy. I think the loss of Dre was almost as big of a factor. He's the only guy I've ever seen get a verbal assist (i.e., telling other players where to pass the ball leading to an assist).

I was so sad to see Andre go! I think it would be great to get him back, but he is not getting any younger. If we wouldn't have traded him in the first place it would have worked out nicely, but I am totally there for bringing him back!

i doubt andre would want to come back and it sucks cause the team is missing that attitude. i remember when nothing was falling andre would try to do it himself by posting up the opposing point guard yet still know exactly when and where to put the ball if a player was open. he has good instincts and is a true point guard which obviously sorely missed

Does anyone else find it funny that everyone on here is all of a sudden ranting about how they miss Andre? I personally loved the guy for what he was capable of doing. Yet don't you remember what everyone was trying to say about him? "He is too slow," "Andre can't hit the open shot," "He gets in the way of Brandon." It's simply ironic to see how fans finally realize the good he did after he left.

To be fair, schwabbii, many of us were not excited to see Andre go since he was such a great floor manager, but his age combined with the expectation that Felton would not have such a horrible season made us okay with the trade.

I never wanted to see Andre go especially for Felton who I thought was a huge risk.

I've been a huge fan of Andre since he first entered the league, and feel that he has never received the credit he was due for the way he runs a team. He is a TRUE point guard who looks to make the people around him better.

Unfortunately, it seemed that there may have been some conflict with Brandon as schwabbii mentioned, as well as Nate -- let's not forget it took Nate over a half a season (AND a locker room spat) to start him over Blake. However, with Roy's retirement as well as Kaleb Canales running the show now, Andre would be an incredible addition to this young team. He would help us win NOW, as the Blazers have promised us, and would also be an incredible mentor for Nolan Smith and the young guys on the team.

I agree with schwabbi that SOME fans continually undervalued Andre's contribution to the team. For those who don't remember, Andre led the league in alley-oop assists in 2011 and made Aldridge lead the league in alley-oop finishes. Andre was a MAJOR factor in Aldridge evolving into an all star.

Yes, Felton should not have been the bust that he was. Yes, trading Andre for Felton should've made us younger and help keep the team's core together for a longer period of time. Yes, that trade was a MISTAKE. Out of the best players we've had over the past 5 years, Aldridge is the only one who remains. No more Roy, Oden, Gerald Wallace, or Andre Miller. But if we rewind back to 2011... what one player was most responsible for Aldridge's breakout season? Andre Miller!

Andre should be one of our top FA priorities this summer, if not THE top priority. As a season ticket holder, nothing would make me happier than to see Andre back here next year!

well, as cmeese said, that bridge is practically gone. If someone called you old and shipped you off, would you come hopping back to them as soon as you were a free agent? Doubtful.

Yeah, unfortunately I also doubt he'd want to come back here after the way we treated him, but the organization still owes it to its fan base and its players to make an attempt at bringing him back. If he says no, he says no... but it's on us to at least try!

Who knows, maybe he'll feel forgiving and get on board with a chance to be back in a starting role. Maybe a new coach, new GM, and new atmosphere might be enough for him to get over past differences. Probably wishful thinking... but we still should make an offer...

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
