Lillard will be conducting a solo workout tomorrow for the Trailblazers, do not expect them to confirm this but he will be here are you excited about him working out for the team?

def have become a Damian Lillard fan club member.... he is best point guard in draft... that's right, point, i said it.... D Rose and Westbrook attack mode seems to work out for the teams that play aggessive points... lets see Trail Blazer point with deadly big time nba range and torches it from the line rather than a marginal game.... keep in mind he also chipped in rebounding end...  I think he could produce big time right out of the gate

Yo Meese47... Have you heard of this kid Alex Young who worked out for us today ? I understand he went to IUPUI [ ooey pooey ] George Hill went to the same school and under Popovich developed into a pretty decent point. Of course that just means that the kid is coachable. Im wondering if this kid young is cut from the same cloth. Check out this video and tell me if his game reminds you of another pretty nasty lefty already in the NBA.

Yah I heard of him not real impressed, liked him more last year. He was a volume shooter and not a real good one. He is a good aggressive defender though but was not against very high quality talent but his strength and quickness should help there. He is not a real explosive athlete 28-30 inch vertical so he struggles to finish at the rim, in college his aggression got him to the line in the NBA he will struggle getting off his shot. With some effort he could turn into a Jamal Crawford, Monta Ellis type player who can score but not efficiently. He can dunk but I have a hard time seeing him throw it down over anyone at the next level. Likely suited for the d-league

I am not sure Lillard is that type of guy he seems willing to work out for anyone but I guess it is really up to his agents in Seattle.

wouldn't it be nice to get lillard at 11? it seems like we could if it weren't for NO taking him at 10.  would it be worth the risk to try and trade up one spot to get lillard at 10?  or has his stock risen to the point where somebody else will take him at the 7-9 spot?

#6 is way too high for Lillard. I would rather wait till the 11th pick.

7th is Golden state, they already have Nate Robinson and Curry plays alot at PG.

8th is Toronto, Calderon had a good season and looks to be developing to their liking, Bayless also had a good year.

9th is Detroit, while they may be considering a PG, they have made  it known they really want a big man and this draft is full of them.

10th is New Orleans, PG is a consideration even though Jarrett Jack is doing a decent job there, alot of talk about Zeller there. Looks like they will want to trade the pick though.

Calderon should be amnestied this season by Toronto but who knows. They will likely go hard after Nash if they cut him but we cannot risk losing him unless we get someone like MKG.

I don't get the whole volume shooter?  Sorry but I gotta say sumptn

LIllard averaged 13 shots per game

He was second in the NCAA in total efficiency to Anthony Davis a big man.... this is big time even though it was Weber State since guards never get in the top tier due to having the ball in their hands.... the fact he was #2 in college does not line up with the volume shooter comment, as matter a fact he was anything but he averaged 24 points 4 dimes and 5 boards with only 13 shots per game.  He shoots 88% at the line and gets there a lot. If he can run pick and roll he will be a SUPER STEAL and PTown finally has its point

D licious the volume shooter comment was designated towards Alex Young. Meanwhile, Lillard took 15.5 shots per game last season. He was very effective largely because he shot 8 fts per game. That is in the top 5 in the nation.

i wouldn't mind seeing the blazers secure their backcourt for the next ten years through this draft.
fantasy: beal at 6 and lillard at 11
reality: lillard at 6 and waiters at 11
i never watched waiters play until i saw some high lights last night. he looked pretty good. he also seemed to have an attitude (in a good way) and plays with a lot of intensity and energy.  that's just the highlights i saw though.  he might not be a bad pick. i definitely like him more than lamb now. wonder if he plays D though. judging from the highlights i saw it looked like he would. but with syracuse you never know.

This is why im sparked about this kid. Getting to the free throw line means getting into the paint. A backcourt of Lillard and Beal i agree would be dangerous, but it would take an incredible streak of luck to pull that off. Getting the sixth from Jersey was outstanding. Olsheys resume wile short is impressive. If he can pull off a few Pritchard type moves, convince Paul Allen to scoff at Luxury tax,we might be dangerous.

I hope we do not scoff at the Luxury tax, a team like OKC on the other hand should consider that. Since they have legit young pieces they want to keep, until we develop that kind of talent we need to stay around the cap and keep flexible.

Lillard got to the line so much because there was nobody else to defend at Weber State.

Don't get me wrong, Lillard could be a great PG in the NBA, but the key word here is COULD be. The Big Sky league is not quite ACC, Big East, Big 12, SEC, and a long way from NBA. Lillard will be there at 11 and Portland would be wise to not throw away their #6 pick.

There is less than 2% he makes it to #11. Toronto or New Orleans will take him if Portland passes on him at #6.

weber st's coach made a good point the other day when asked about playing in a weak conference.  he mentioned that, yes, it may be a weaker conference but the competition threw the kitchen sink at him each and every game because he was the only guy they had to worry about.  so the opponent's entire defensive scheme was to stop lillard every single game, and he still completely dominated.  i think he's a pretty safe pick.

Great workout. Has a high basketball IQ and it shows. I love his enthusiasm and his understanding of the team we have. Paul Allen reportedly had dinner with him last night, which is apparently a sign of being "in".I heard the same thing jwood and was thinking the same thing. Crossing my fingers we select him at #6

this is big. i cant say enough about lillard and im kind of on edge since so many people are saying draft drummond. with a pick this high you have to go with ability and not potential. i would be pissed if they draft drummond because i want somebody that can contribute now. since when is it ever a good idea to depend on a project to develop?

Golden State wouldn't draft them at 7 their backcourt is loaded.  But at number 8 I garuntee that the Raptors would take Lillard.  We would have to trade up to 7 to get Lillard if he's not drafted by us at 6.  I think he is the guy at 6 unless MKG, Beal or maybe even if Barnes falls to 6.  If we get one of those three we could trade Wesley to New Orleans, and have them trade the 10th while we trade the 11th and ship both of those to Golden State for the 7th.  This is our bast chance at getting a Lillard/Beal backcourt and I think it would be a homerun for us

i am for trading up to the 7 spot at this point. since lillard's stock has gone up the 7th pick has become much more valuable. that way we will get lillard but also we would be guaranteed either barnes, beal, or drummond, whoever slips.  we would have two of the top tier players out of this draft. i'm totally confused and back to square one on drummond now. anybody see his workout in Sac?  the guy looked phenomenal.  he was even lighting it up from outside the paint with a nice little 10-15 foot jumper.  didn't miss. then of course he was beastly with his post up and defensive drills.  i've been really scared of the blazers drafting drummond but he looked like he has polished his offensive skills and worked hard during the off season.  he's only 6'10", not so monstrous in the NBA. he'd be playing against taller centers every night. even so, i don't expect him to be the one left over at 7 after watching that workout.  which is fine with me. i'd rather have barnes or beal.

Drummond looked good at Sacremento but after the workout was over numerous reports came out they were no longer considering him. I wonder if it was something during his talks with the coach that prompted this.

from what i've seen he doesn't seem real comfortable answering questions. he's not a moron like lamb, just a bit awkward and sometimes comes across kind of aloof. he's very young though. i think the 2nd youngest in the draft.
