Why is it that KP is getting so much crap? Overall this has not been a terrible offseason (aside from PA not letting us sign Roy) But comparable to other teams, not much has been done. Houston signed Ariza, okay- they still will suck with out Yao. Lakers signed Artest- a slight upgrade from Ariza. Nuggets resign Birdman- drug suspension waiting to happen. Looking at these moves, they aren't that spectacular, granted Spurs getting Jefferson is big, they spurs are so old, in 2-3 years they're done. these journalists aren't looking at who we already have. Roy is a top tier NBA player, LA is on the rise, Oden, Bayless, Rudy, and Batum are growing. So Adrian Wojnarowski, shut up, and let our game back us up. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-winnerslosers071109&prov=yhoo&type=lgns (this whole article slams KP)

Mr. Wojnarowski is a tool. He should give up his day job and start writing for tabloids. If KP doesn't sign any FAs this off season he still will return one of the best clubs in the league next season. Adrian is loco to use the word loser and Pritchard in the same sentence. He owes KP an apology.

    I am a fan of pritch-slapping!

As much as I dislike his writing, Woj is typically very plugged into the NBA front office scene. And if you look at it from an outsider's view, we have had a pretty uneventful, if not disappointing, offseason. First we draft Victor Claver (and if you say you saw that coming you're full of crap because everyone thought Claver would be 2nd round), granted we got Pendergraph (who I hope can come in and fill that banger backup PF role), but Dejuan Summers is currently making us look like fools for skipping him to pick Dante Cunningham (hopefully Dante makes me choke on that sentence). Our STEAL of the draft, Patti (is it Patti or Patty?) Mills breaks his foot in his 2nd practice and is possibly out for the year with the Martell injury. On top of that, we got slighted at the last second by a high prospect free agent. While some people can say "that's okay we're fine with that", it's obvious our staff wanted Turkoglu. So if you look at if from that perspective, that was a failure. And now they're playing hardball with the franchise player. Look what the nation thinks about DWade's comments and his current contract negotiations. His comments were on the same level as Brandon's, but they're bottom line material on ESPN.

Overall it has been a mediocre offseason. We still don't know about Martell's health (seriously how long does it take a bone in your foot to heal? I had the same injury, same surgery, and it only took me 4 months to heal), we haven't really added any significant pieces this offseason being one of the few teams with cap space, and we got burned by SHedo. While I don't think it's been a failure, and I don't think it's been AS bad as Woj tries to make it out to be, this wasn't a KP-golden-aura offseason like some in the past. Maybe he's burned too many bridges by jacking talent from everyone, or maybe we're just at that point he feels no or few moves is the best. Personally I've been of the mind that if Martell's healthy he's our free agent this year. I think it's still WAY to early to declare this offseason a bust, but it hasn't been as eye-popping as many thought it would be for us. But in the end if Brandon and LaMarcus get their deals done before the season and don't become restricted free agents, I will consider this offseason (all other events included) a success.
I am a fan of this team. Here's to hoping for a healthy season!!!

Personally, I am just waiting to see what happens. Hedo would have been good, but I am glad we didn't sign him to a long term contract. I like what KP is doing in this Milsap offer. It seems he is setting us up to be in good position, if Utah matches.
I am horrified by the Brandon Roy issue. I'm sure the deal will get done, and I am not panicing. Whatever the reasons are, just get it done. B-Roy deserves the max, and there is no reason to risk hurt feelings. To me, everything else is secondary, and I mean EVERYTHING. Honestly, I don't know all of the inside workings of getting a deal done in the NBA, but there is nothing I can see that would justify not taking care of him now. I agree with those that state that as long as we get B-Roy signed, this is a succesful offseason.

P.S. For the record: from the beginning I was an advocate of getting Ron Artest. I know it's water under the bridge, but that would have been a way better move than going after Hedo.
I am a fan of getting and staying healthy.

Rumors have shown that the Rockets are very interested in Dwight Howard and that the interest is mutual.

    I''d trade for Asik.

Sanders better shotblocker, better dunker and around the rim, Asik better defensively. I think Asik will have the better career.
