    we should start over ... maybe we missed our window, maybe we should thank LaMarcus for all he has tried to do and trade him to a team that could contend for a title, he's earned it. get a first round this year and next year plus expiring contracts. trade Matthews to another winning organization so he has a shot at winning a title, get maybe a late first round. trade Batum for lottery draft picks this year and next year. So that would give us 4 plus draft picks this year, easily could find 3 guys who can fit together well. next year we would have 2 or 3 picks from the batum and lamarcus trades plus our lottery pick. again easily find 1 or 2 guys to blend with the other guys, now we have a young core of guys that we be brought up together.

    You do realize Portland is starting over, right?  I mean, think about it.  It's feasible Portland has 10 new faces this year... not to mention a new coach and GM.  Most everyone obtained in trades last year are free agents; do you think that's a fluke?

    And think about this.  The Seattle Mariners have hung onto King Felix, even though he should go to a winner so he can get a ring, but he stays put, he doesn't complain, he likes Seattle, and the Mariners are showing their loyalty by keeping him, paying him, and doing what they can to build around him.

    Same goes for Portland.  You don't show loyalty to someone by shipping them off.  Have you spoken to L.A. to find out if he WANTS to leave Portland?   cmeese has mentioned the same thing, trading LA and maybe moving up to get Anthony Davis if at all possible, but you know, there's really only 4 familiar faces on the Blazers roster, and if Batum isn't retained, then we have 3:  L.A., Matthews, and Prz.  

    Do you seriously think Portland is doing anything BUT starting over?  

    Based on what transpired last year, it seems to me Paul Allen plans on building around the few pieces that have been retained.  Did you see his statement to fans?  Losing all those games last year was hard to watch, and even though Allen's starting over, he's going to retain at least a couple pieces that'll help give Portland a chance to win some games and possibly get back into the playoffs.

    An all-rookie team is not going to have any chance at all and the uncertainty of their futures makes the option of dumping L.A. all the more unreasonable.  That's my opinion.

    Trade LA and Matthews for Rondo, J. Johnson and picks #21,#22. Look to trade
     Batum for pick 2-5 and a first next year, or to Houston for Lowry and picks #14,#16 if Boston is not interested in a trade for LA.

    Even in a complete rebuild, LaMarcus is young enough to be around for the finished product. As long as he stays healthy, he has 10+ years of basketball left. If you're expecting a rebuild that takes longer than 10 years, you're the most patient Blazer fan I've ever heard of.

    Im seriously starting to wonder if he can stay healthy. hes having a lot of issues this past year and that deserves attention. He was underwhelming this year in my opinion. Didnt play with the heart he should be. He will never be a #1 option. He will be an amazing #2 guy, all-star, but never the leader and intense figurehead guys like kobe, nowitzki, and garnett have been.

    Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
