    Topic for Mike & Mike to discuss & put out there.......  ;)

    I say if chad wants the job,  the Gm team they have now has done a great job, taken some risks,  made great moves for the future & should be rewarded for doing a great job!!!  :)
    Why bring in a stranger who doesn't know the players or team staff - and would basically be starting from scratch......  ;

    Also I really hope that they give the new coach a chance!!!
    I think he has the players respect & ear,  knows & cares about the organization,  & w/ a good team around him could have Miami like success.......  ;)
    I'm not for going after a big name, over going after the "right person".......  ;
    Get the man champion players & he'll be a champion level coach!
    He deserves atleast 1 year to see what he can do!
    Unless phil jackson level people r' willing to come, I think we should stick w/ the team we have.
    Just a few thoughts & nuggets of wisdom to chew on...   : )

    I'm not all that involved in the rumors about who could be the next coach or GM.  Personally, I'd like to be an assistant GM to help give some of my insight about college players because I watch a lot of NCAA ball.  I study a lot, and there are many guys who I think fans will be disappointed if Portland settles on.  Furthermore, I like what the post-McMillan coaching staff did... Canales gave minutes to guys McMillan rarely ever played.  Fans need to see what those guys can do... especially Thabeet and Hickson... those guys do have bright futures, but they need the minutes.

    So when Portland makes a decision about a coach, I hope it's a coach who's willing to utilize the bench and distribute a lot of minutes.  Obviously Matthews and L.A. will get theirs, but I want to see guys like Thabeet develop because I think Thabeet in 5 years could be better than Oden ever would have been.  That's just my humble opinion, but I'm one of the silent minorities who did not like all the pre-draft Oden hype years ago... I wanted Durant because I'm a huge longhorn fan and I knew (barring injury to his thin frame) that Durant would be a superstar in the mold of Jordan.  There's just so many things Durant did for Texas that fans in Portland were just oblivious to, such as running the point on many occasions, guarding the top offensive player on the opposing team, and so much more.  Durant really was a complete player in college and I thought he was going to stay in school, but when he turned pro and Portland didn't take him, I was pretty disappointed.  Now even more-so.

    But with a new coach, GM, and a handful of draft picks, this is a great opportunity for the franchise and fans to move forward and get past all the problems the team has endured over the past handful of years.

    I have a question for you guys? If portland somehow won the lottery and got the 1st pick, would you guys rather trade down and draft a guy like oladipo/porter or stay at 1 and draft ben mclemore. Im just wondering on what you guys think of him, i ...

    Thank you, Knorton. Now more rebuilding or anything. No rookie nonsense. Get a solid Defensive big. Trade every single pick to get it.

    I don''t trust big men with a history of injury. Ibaka also weighs more than Noel, but you''re right, early days yet, he could bulk up. I am sure, that he will lose some of his speed and athleticism when he does though. Wasn''t that one of his bes...
