After months of brain storming this is my final Idea for the blazers

    After months of idea watching, brainstorming , and crazy ideas- this is my final crazy stretch of and idea of building our team. Note I know this will not happen but I like the way things feel.

    Start with a sign and trade of JJ Hickson. Throw Matthews in this trade for Andre Iguadala.

    Trade batum and pick 11 of and future pick considerations for Al Jefferson.

    Draft drummond with pick 6 if available; if not Barnes.

    Sign Eric Gordon, Jordon Hill, and Dragic.

    How the team looks:
    Dragic-8-10 mil/ smith 1.3 mil
    Eric Gordon-10 mil with assurance/ elliot williams - 1.3
    AI-14/ Barnes???/babbit 1.8
    LA-14 mil/ Jordon-3 mil
    Al-14/ drummond??/ priz-1

    Order done

    sign dragic to 10 mil, and eric gordon to 10 and batum offer to 5 and jj hickson (maxing out)
    match batum's offer (pushing us over the cap with bird rights)
    Trade JJ & matthews to phili for AI -( 13.5 for 12ish so throw pieces in so the numbers work out)
    Batum (10 mil contract) and pick 11 (3 mil i believe) for al jefferson (14 mil) (utah will do because they have so many young big men but pay to much for that possition, additionally i heard they want lillard)
    fill in with smaller contract  the biggest one being jordan hil (2-3 mil)
    drafting drummond to back up Al is assurance or barnes behind AI is assurance

    puts us over, but the way  we do it makes it so we are aloud to

    72.4 (projected)- 14 mil over cap
    dragic, gordon, AI, LA, Jefferson
    Smith, williams, babbit, jordon, drummond
    love the depth and the roundness of the team

    remember this is a far fetched idea, but I just wanna see a debate about the idea =D

    Interesting.  I like a lot of your ideas.  I personally am hoping Thabeet stays here and I like Hickson, but sign and trade makes sense.  Can't see Gordon leaving, let alone coming to portland, and I also don't see Matthews leaving.  

    A lot of what Portland does in free agency is going to be based on their draft strategy.  Will Portland draft Barnes and match Batum?  I don't think so and their fate might be determined on whether or not Drummond's available at 6.

    I'm not sure if Portland's going to have the patience with Thabeet, but I was a big fan of his in college and I think he could impress Portland fans if given a chance.  He'll not only block 5 shots a game, but he'll alter so many more, and if his offensive game develops, well, I guess what I'm saying is there's no better time than the present to see what kind of player he's going to turn into... Portland's not going to be winning a championship anytime soon, but he could be an integral piece of the puzzle.  

    Would Thabeet, LA, Barnes, Matthews, and Marshall/Dragic/Machado be a recipe for success?  I don't know, but it's a team I'd cheer for.  maybe we get lillard instead of marshall; he's dynamic, but not a pure PG, so hopefully we get a FA like Dragic or sign a 2nd rounder like Machado, McCollum or the like.  So many possibilities.  I been typing stuff here all day.  I"m gonna take a break now.

    Personally if we could trade mattews and go after Al jefferson, and sign Gordon I think we are on the right track, even keeping batum at sf, Al jefferson would bring defense rebounds and scrap type offense and we need all 3, Eric gordon can close a game for use, batum spreads the court, and sign of dragic is good.... i think of all C we can sign or trade i like Al Jefferson on this team with LA- more than any FA

    Jordan Hill choked and smashed his girlfriend. He should just stay on the Lakers. Those wierdos down there enjoy cheering for violent players.

    Philly would never make that trade. Hickson showed promise isn't starting quality. I hate to say it but Matthews isn't really starting quality. You don't trade your allstar/franchise player for a few role players. Maybe Hickson and Batum, but I don't even see them doing that.

    Phili has to resign all of their big men, and JJ is an upgrade from elton brand, and matthews can be a starter on the team- on top of that phili is a young team plus AI, and they want to focus on other  young players and developing them over AI

    If the thread said Babbitt beat some brothers you all would be expecting a hate crime. I do not see why this is a big deal. Police beat their wives daily and we do not have a thread about that and that is a real issue plaguing society.
