The man singlehandedly brought OSU out of the worst record in the NCAA. 17.7 PPG, 3.8 RPG, 2.8 APG. Shoots 45% from the field and 33% from the Three. He is a freak athlete with killer hops and speed. Simply a play maker. If we can get him with one of our 2 picks in the second round, could be worth it. Thoughts?

He will likely go un-drafted and could end up on the Stampede

He will be drafted, but the thing with JC is his inconsistantcy. Awesome one day invisible the next and usually invisible in the big games. Another year of College ball would have did him huge favors.

He's a fantastic defender and really athletic, but taking a high second round pick on him might be doubling up as we essentially have a similar, yet better prospect already on the roster in Elliot Williams. If a team does end up taking him in the late second round, I wouldn't hesitate to offer a future second rounder for him though. It's just that in this draft, #40 & #41 really have the potential to net us a good player, and it may be a slight reach to take him there.

I was kind of hoping we would package our 41st pick and cash to move up in the early second round and go after Joe Crowder as an energy provider.

We don't draft local guys in Portland. If they do well on a different team, then perhaps we might think about it years down the road. Brandon Roy was like the 1st Huskie ever drafted by P-Town, and he did pretty darn tootin' good. Think what might happen if we actually drafted a Duck or a Beaver?

    sorry, it's Jae.

I think he'll be there at 40-1 if Portland wants him.  I like the guy, big east player of the year.  I think the problem is he plays like a PF, but he's only 6-6.  I don't view him as a shooting guard, and I'm not sure he has the quickness to guard NBA SG's.  He's an interesting selection though and teams are going to like his toughness.  He will get taken, just maybe not as high as you think.

I don't know if others like him as much as I, but I'm excited about Joe Burton.  I think he has a great touch, great hands, he's a smooth player with some size to push guys around, he can pass, I just think he's a solid talent on OSU that people don't talk about much and he could be an NBA selection next year.  Maybe Portland will go after him.  I don't expect him to be a first rounder and he may not even get drafted, but he can do a lot to change his draft position this coming year.  I really want to see if he blossoms his senior year.  With Cunningham gone, guys are going to have to step up in the scoring department and I don't think people have seen all Joe's capable of.  He should be a double-double guy, his big dilemma is that he's only 6-7 and he's essentially the Beavs center.  He could use some lessons from Barkley.

i was disappointed Cunningham chose to declare, but I thought about it and I'm not so sure staying in school would have helped him.  I mean, he's first team all defense, and what more is he going to improve on offensively that he can't do in the NBA?  My point is, staying in school another year, in my opinion, isn't going to improve his draft position.

What he needs is to go to a team that'll run and gun, but he's just going to get paid to sit on a bench and learn.  If he develops and shows he's not a liability, well, he's just going to have to earn his minutes is all.  It's possible he ends up overseas or maybe even in the D League for a stint.

Burton improved some for OSU but he is by no means NBA material.

not yet but I think he was one of the most consistent beavs last year, I didn't see every game, but I saw them a lot and burton just impressed me more often than not... and he was more consistent than cunningham.  there is a fire rocket for the beavs who I forget his name, but collier or moreland?  I forget, but he was a very active, strong player.  If cunningham were returning the beavs could really surprise, and they may still, but they need more than starks and nelson.  anyway.  tangent.

Many draft "experts" have him leaving early-mid second round. Take into consideration we have two back to back picks in that position. Would using one of those on picking him up be so bad? I personally have played with him on OSU campus. His athleticism is out of this world and confidence is second to none. I am eager to see him work out in some predraft combines. They gave Seth Tarver quite a bit of time around the team, willing to bet they will do the same with JC. Someone mentions that we have Elliot Williams there, But we have SOMETHING in every position. Especially after picking up two first round picks. So the question is, Would it be a waste? Is their honestly something better?

I would definitely use a 40 or 41 to get Crowder if we still have the pick and he is available.

Sanders is a good fit, like to run, Pretty much the same offensive game as JJ, except JJ is a little better around the rim and has that close-mid range game. I think Henson is decent too. I didn''t get to see a lot of his game, as he didn''t play ...

You''re right. They should dump Monta though. I was thinking maybe the Rockets could use the number 1 pick to get the lakers to do a sign and trade for D12.
