This whole series ticks me off.  Spurs showed they're better than OKC in games 1 and 2, but the officiating in games 3 and 4 was horrible, and they breathed life back into OKC; now they just upset the spurs in game 5.  Frustrating game to watch.  I'm sick of that wormy little westbrook and I loved Durant coming out of college, but I can't root for him now.  He needs to be traded to portland.  Just makes me sick that we passed on this guy and now he's 5 wins away from a championship... and they're a very young, fast, athletic team with an awesome future.

Spurs are my 2nd favorite team and I'm so pissed I don't even care to watch any more basketball this year.

Its easy to say after the fact we should have drafted Durant, but I was coaching a 13 year old baseball team the year of that infamous draft.  One day I asked all the kids if they were going to watch the draft.  YES.  Who's portland going to take?  ODEN.

Then I asked, how many of you saw Oden play in college.

    it's quiet

So why do you want Oden?

    it's quiet

I told them, I don't care what anyone says, Durant is a superstar and he's who Portland should be taking.

But Portland sold the public on Oden, he was hyped up like nobody in the history of Portland drafts... Yeah yeah yeah most the owners would have taken Oden, it was the right pick, blah blah blah.

To me, Oden was a big man with potential who got himself into a lot of foul trouble and it was his teammate Conley who carried Ohio State through the tourney while Oden was warming his butt on the bench for long stretches.  Meanwhile Durant was carrying Texas, guarding the best opposing players, running the point, draining tre's, rebounding, stealing... Durant did it all in college and there was no doubt he'd be premiere.  It's too bad.

If I were Portland's GM, I would have done my best to get Durant (maybe trade down to #2 and get some compensation), I would have gone after Derrick Rose because he shut Collison down in the tournament and I knew he has stardom in his blood.  I loved Blake Griffin and would have tried hard to get him and this year the sure thing is Anthony Davis.  I know it's not always possible to get what you want, but building around Durant and trying to land sure things is a great way to rebuild.  In time i'm sure it'd be expensive, but the Rays build themselves through the draft and they're competing with the payrolls of Boston and NY.

The biggest problem I see in Portland is not sticking it out with some of the younger projects they draft.  Thus maybe they shouldn't have drafted them in the first place.

anyway, I'm just fuming that the spurs are facing elimination.  I need to vent.

First off Damian- Jack will make a lot more than 4 million next year. At minimum he will get a couple MLE offers starting at 5.15 million. Tony Allen will also get many MLE offers so to sign either will take at least 6 million probably closer to 8...

Unholy your failing to account for a few things. One Tony Allen has significantly outplayed his 3.3 million a year contract. He will get several MLE offers which starts at 5.15 million. So if you want him it will take at least that much probably m...

Rookies are fine a team should be able to carry 5 of them easily. The problem with us last year was we had no depth in front of the rookies. Lillard and Leonard as lottery picks should have gotten lots of playing time, which they did. However, Bar...

Rip the Larry Sanders trade would happen on draft day so people would already know we fixed out biggest weakness. Then once free agency begins its up to LA, Lillard, Stotts, Olshey and Paul Allen to lure people here. It becomes a lot easier to con...

Thanks Ricky.   I''ll be watching @ 10.   Haven''t seen enough right hand from Shazamm.   Without the ability to take his defender either way off the bounce, let alone finish at the cup with either hand?   Second rounder at best.
