Chad Buchanan and Kaleb Canales still have interim titles going into the 2012 - 2013 season.

I wonder what the odds in Las Vegas of that happening.  I would bet it could be more of a sure thing than Paul Allen and Larry Miller want to admit.

I'd say the odds are good. What gets me is why is it taking so long to hire a GM? Portland needs a coach as well. Even though Portland's GM spot is one of the few vacancies, there are several head coaching vacancies available. The longer they take to hire a GM the more coaches like Sloan, Van Gundy, and all those will already be hired by another team.

No good big name coach is going to want to coach a team that is in doubt from the draft to the GM.

I can't say I have anything against Buchanan, he may be great, I just wish they would get things figured out and name a GM so he, the GM, can get his guy for head coach and they can work together for the draft, trades, and free agency.

Not to mention Portland is making a terrible case for themselves among free agents. You wont get any Brook Lopez or Chris Kaman's without a solidified front office.

You guys have got me thinking that maybe Miller is the problem. I know GM search is a big deal but this is crunch time. We can't afford another week of additional interviews and then the week after of deciding amongst the candidates with "Mr Allen"

The greatest judge of talent and teacher out there is Jerry Sloan.  Give him a deal like Pete Carroll in Seattle.

I like what Chad Buchanan is doing, i loved the W. Matthews and JJ Hickson get. I think he has earned the job, he's done a great job already. I vote Chad Buchanan as the new Portland Trail Blazers General Manager!!

I love the Kaleb Canales story, coming from almost nothing to head coach!!! From what i heard his work ethic and love of the game is second to none. I don't think it would be fair to judge him by the job he did at the end of the season. I think he is going to need a better coaching staff around him.

I say give them the job for good with at least a 4 year plan, gives the players they get a chances to adapt to the NBA and to the coaches system.

I wouldn't necessarily be against Buchanan as GM, I just want them to make a move. Blazers are starting to find themselves at the brunt of jokes in the sports world because of all the uncertainty and indecisiveness. Not the most attractive situation for potential GM's, Coaches, or free agaents.

Just name a GM then a coach and get on with the NBA already!!!!

im not sold on buchanan. didnt like any of the moves he made this year, im still wait and see on the gerald wallace deal. i like the fact he was a scout but drafting nolan over faried? would rather have somebody with much more experience take the gm spot.
i like kaleb but i think i'd rather see him as an assistant coach for a year before offering him the head coaching job, but if they kept him as head coach i wouldn't be disappointed one bit.

I would trade the pick, the team is in rebuild mode and I am not sure Burke is the guy I really want on my team. Since my team needs a PG a PF and maybe a SG depending on how they feel about Afflalo still.

Want to talk about trade LA possibilities then maybe it is time to reexamine the Cavs as an option for LA. Can get pick #1 and some pieces or work out a three way trade with the Bucks and Cavs. If we could end up with Thompson, Gee and Sanders for...

Considering that is the only aggressive thing he has ever done in his life, it is not likely he will do anything. Maybe if he did I might respect him more. But its alright enjoy your higher ticket prices to pay this joker 11 million a year.

Right now, the most realistic is Asik. If Houston pursue D12, sign and trade JJ and a couple second round picks, maybe Joel Freeland or somebody for Asik.

Nah, Washington would just sign him themselves, save them a pick. Also, no way JJ is worth a lottery pick. Oladipo would be great, for pretty much any team in the NBA. I don''t think it''s possible to get him though. Should focus on getting a defe...

What happens if we don''t win? Dwight will start his nonsense, we would be out a lot of money, and with no real talent to show for it. San Antonio and Memphis is proof that you don''t need superstars to win.
