Well, if you all haven't heard yet there has been very substantial talks of Kirk Hinrich coming to the Blazers in a three team deal that might involve the signing and trading of Paul Milsap. Milsap would go back to Utah and Chicago would send Tyrus Thomas in exchange for Carlos Boozer. The Bulls would also send Hinrich to the Blazers. So essentially we would be trading Milsap for Hinrich. This seems like a move I can get behind even though it is strange that we still own the rights to Blake when it has been known for sometime now that Bayless is going to be playing the backup PG position this next season. So where does Blake fit in? And where do we get our backup power forward from? If we get to acquire both Kirk Hinrich and a player like Brandon Bass, this would be a scenario in which will no doubt help our team. It would help a lot more than simply getting Hedo Turkolu. Even though I wanted more of a veteran PG (i.e. Andre Miller or Steve Nash) I feel as if this could be the beginning of something very productive in a so far disappointing offseason. It has only been disappointing because of the organization publicly saying that they were going to add to the team. If they were to have just left the team as it was I wouldn't have been upset, but saying that they are adding to the team and blah blah blah it only seems right to pull the trigger on something productive. Hopefully, we will awake in the next couple of mornings and see that this is officially true and then the Blazers can concentrate on the contracts of our two Franchise players, B.Roy and LaMarcus. Because when it all said and done, no matter if we go LeBron this summer, I would say it was a failure if we do not commit to those two guys and give them anything they want.

im probably going to get hatemail for this one, but if kirk starts, i think blake would be a better guy coming off the bench, as he did in denver for a bit. Now i think bayless is awesome, but with that kind of experiance at pg right there, i can't say no to that. Also, on a side note, if anyone can make sense of that dallas toronto trade, id love to know exactly what the hell happened in that one lol

Do any of the anti-Blaker's actually watch Bulls games? From the Chicago games I've seen in the past few seasons, the Blazers would be doing the Bulls a big favor, by trading Blake for Hinrich. This one would come back to bite us. The Bulls are already improving. If Chicago had Blake playing with D-Rose, they'd be even better, and they'd know all of the Blazer's plays.

To answer you're question about the Dallas/Toronto/Memphis trade.  It is complicated indeed...

A four-team deal sending Shawn Marion to the Dallas Mavericks has been approved by the league office and was to be formally announced by the teams on Thursday.

Marion is set to receive a five-year contract from the Mavericks worth an estimated $39 million, according to sources.

Under the sign-and-trade deal, the Orlando Magic traded Hedo Turkoglu to the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors sent Marion, Kris Humphries, Nathan Jawai and cash considerations to Dallas, while also sending a future second round draft pick to the Memphis Grizzlies.

The Mavericks in turn shipped Jerry Stackhouse and cash considerations to the Grizzlies and Devean George and Antoine Wright to Toronto, while the Grizzlies dealt Greg Buckner to Dallas.

The inclusion of Jawai to the Mavericks was a new wrinkle in the deal. In an earlier version, the Raptors were to send Quincy Douby to the Grizzlies instead.

According to sources, the cash that accompanies Stackhouse from Dallas will help the Grizzlies buy out his contract. Only $2 million of Stackhouse's $7.25 million salary next season is guaranteed, as long as he is waived by Aug. 10.

Marion earned $17.8 million last season and was traded for the second straight February when Miami sent him to Toronto in a swap for Jermaine O'Neal. He went from Phoenix to Miami one year earlier in the Shaquille O'Neal trade.

A deal with Dallas appeared to be Marion's best and last hope for securing a new contract starting above the $5.9 million midlevel exception.

Turkoglu, a 6-foot-10 forward, was one of the most coveted free agents available, coming off a season in which he helped the Magic reach the NBA Finals.

The nine-year NBA veteran appeared poised to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers last Friday before Raptors general manager Bryan Colangelo swooped in and nabbed the Turkish forward.

Turkoglu's agent, Lon Babby, said the player and his wife, Banu, were intrigued by Toronto's ethnic diversity, including a large Turkish community.

He also got an assist from Chris Bosh, the Raptors' All-Star forward.

"Little known fact, Chris helped recruit Hedo last Friday," Colangelo said at a news conference. "[I] reached out to Chris, Chris made a phone call and I would believe that would be a very important call for this guy to get when Chris Bosh calls you and says, `I want you to come play for us and make us better."

Turkoglu opted out of his contract in Orlando when the team acquired Vince Carter from New Jersey. Turkoglu was due $7.3 million next season, the final year of a $36 million, six-year deal with the Magic.

He averaged 16.8 points and 5.3 rebounds last season, and has averaged 12.3 points and 4.2 rebounds over his career, which included stints with Sacramento and San Antonio before he signed with Orlando as a free agent in 2004. He is a a 38.5 percent shooter from 3-point range.

Not two months. It wasn''t a major injury, X rays came back positive. I know he played because we had no one who could replace him, and that was admirable, but it simply does not take that long. When he had a good game, he said my wrist felt good....

Yeah, he was tripping with that Scottie Pippen reference. Nowhere as good as him, BUUUTTT, I think he can be, if he plays like a man. In Euroleague, you are taught more about finesse, and the fundamentals. He needs to put a little more muscle on, ...

I think what Stotts is doing is superb. His plays are great. I remember the only play he ever called for Meyers Leonard, against the Bobcats. Great movement, got LMA a good mid range look, got Batum a decent three look and the got Meyers way down ...
