Absolutely not !!! $8.5 million max. If not,we can easily acquire the inconsistency of a sg/sf elsewhere. Cheaper !!!!!!! We need cats who love the game, not these action figures who love to blame. Stop drafting and trading for these Timothy Dalton/George Lazenby Bonds, and get me the Sean Connery Bonds. Let that marinate.

Thats exactly what I was thinking. He is a solid player, but 10 million is way too much. I agree with 8.5. But, then again, theres some great talent coming out in the draft this year, in the small forward position. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes are just some to name. And we do have 2 good lottery draft picks. Not going to lie, this off season looks pretty exciting and interesting.

Real talk BRoy Fan. Real ballers ball anywhere, anytime. Its about competition. You play to win. If its in you, you compete. Im tired of hearing about professionals not wanting to play in the Liquid Sunshine State. You're not payed to do anything but play to win. The rest of that caca that passes through your mind is a personal problem. Having said that, management isnt off the hook either. Stop paying and retaining these action figures on the potential of what they MIGHT become. Be a better judge of the personell you hire ! I swear the wrong people were giving the opportunity to play with money.

I'd give him a healthy contract where his last year gives him 10. There... now everybody is happy.

Marcus Camby made more than 10mil, I think Batum is better value than Camby but I'd like to get him for 9-9.5 He'd take less I think if he gets 4 years.

i think he is worth 10 mil, because of the fact LA is long term and we can go over the cap if we give him his qualifying offer of 5.4. If his contract would interfere long term with signing LA, then  its a tough question, but the value of batum is outside his playing right now.
sure we can sign a sg on equal skill with not as much up side for about the same, but then it all goes against our cap- batum we make a 5.4 qualifying offer and fill the team cap space, and someone offers batum 10 million, we can go 5 million over the cap to sign (really any amount because he is restricted), because of this we can get batum for 10 million and still afford players- ie williams hickson priz, draft picks, other FA we may look at)  my 2 cents

I would give him the money, great defender, great slasher, solid jump shot. anyone remember alley oop to beat san antone??  And you want to rely on the blazer lottery picks are you out your mind man do you not know your blazer history of lottery picks, there is no way, no way i would rely on lottery picks of the portland trail blazers. give nic the money get a center ( no injury history one) and a point guard.  Get rid of felton and flynn and crawford(trouble maker) and maybe dish mathews.  GO BLAZERS!

Are you crazy, blazer and lottery picks dont mix.  Blazer history with lottery picks is painful to think about what could have been.

He's worth about what he was offered, 7.5 mil.  Lucky for him we have Bird rights so he will almost certainly get more as it won't impact our cap space.  A very fortunate situation for Batum, and it take some of the sting out of the situation for people like myself who think he's not worth it.  The big loser will be Paul Allen's pocket book as he's about to drop ~10 mil on a guy who isn't worth anywhere near that.

Not DPOY. All American. Player of the year in his conference twice. Past four years, McCollum, Muscala, McCollum, Muscala.

@RipCity I like the Nick Young/Randy Foye idea indeed, could be able to get Foye for 2mil per season

sign Iggy for 8-9M, Batum at the two, and Wesley off the bench! Draft Steven Adams (who loves contact, grew up playing rug-bee). Sounds NICE!

Im not impressed with Gortat. Everyone wants him but he seems mediorcre to me. He is the most realistic option since all it would take is the 10th pick, but I think he is old and declining.
