    What 2 Watch 4

Hasheem Thabeet was an animal against his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies, Saturday night. In the first half alone Thabeet set a season-high for rebounds (8) and held Marc Gasol scoreless for over seven minutes to start the game. He had a streak of four consecutive games with a block snapped, although I think the statisticians short-changed him on one in the first-half. As Mike Rice said on the broadcast, if he can stop bringing the ball down so low after rebounds or when he's received entry passes, he'll be able to easily score 10+ points. And last but not least, DUNK THE BALL, Hasheem! You're 7'3", big man. Throw it down! Thabeet should make his third straight start tonight in San Antonio after Joel Przyybilla got sick again on the flight over, according to Chris Haynes.

After connecting on two 3-pointers against Memphis, Luke Babbitt needs just three more 3's over his next two games to qualify for the NBA's 3-Point shooting title. Unfortunately for Luke, he's cooled off in a big way over his past two games, shooting just 2-7 against Utah and 2-6 versus Memphis. Currently, he's shooting the 3 at a .456 clip, which would be good enough for third best in the entire NBA. Right now Babbitt is gunning for Steve Novak, the current clubhouse leader at .468. Even in a starter's role, Luke has looked tentative after missing a couple of early shots/ That's not the Luke we need to see. Now, we don't want him forcing anything, but continue to be aggressive. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. Passiveness was his biggest downfall last season. If he is to become a part of this team's future, he has to overcome that and become a shooter. And what do shooter's do? They shoot!

Saturday night's contest against the Grizzlies marked the first minutes disparity between the two young, point guards Jonny Flynn and Nolan Smith since each took over the starting duties a little over a week ago in Phoenix. Flynn played just 13 minutes compared to Smith's 35. In fact, this was the third straight game of over 30 minutes for Nolan while Jonny hasn't broke 25. Is this a sign that the organization feels more strongly going forward with Nolan over Jonny or have they seen enough of Flynn and now want to see what Nolan's got? Either way, tonight will be a good barometer as it doesn't get much more difficult then dealing with the speedy, Tony Parker. Nolan Smith has the edge on Flynn defensively, but when it comes down to running a team, Flynn is the superior floor general. In the three games since sharing point guard duties, Flynn (ave. 21 minutes per game) has a total 16 assists and 4 turnovers compared to Smith's (ave. 36 minutes per game) 11 assists and 6 turnovers.

Without Batum, Aldridge, and Crawford, Wesley Matthews HAD to be the focal point on offense and he took that upon himself and ended up shooting a career-high 24 field goal attempts. He only made 9 of them, but he seems like the type of player who will do whatever the Coach asks of him as long as he's on the floor. Wesley is the type of player whose contributions can't be measured in a box score.

And he will not quit. You always get the last drop of blood, sweat and --who knows?-- probably tears. You can't coach that.

Paul Allen said how do we get better?  I see no activity in the draft with no draft picks.  The trade possibilities are limited because of the value of our bench players.  We have no cap space.  So I think the improvement of our b...

First Game starts tonight. Houston is a tough first round opponent and they play exceptionally well at home. If we can steal a game or two at their place, I feel like we have extremely good chances.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...
