The Portland Trail Blazers have interviewed agent Noah Croom for the franchise's vacant general manager’s job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Croom has met with Blazers officials at least once in Portland, sources said.

Before joining the Goodwin Sports agency, Croom was an assistant general manager from 1995-2000 with the Vancouver and Memphis Grizzlies. He was a candidate for several front-office jobs in recent years, but chose to stay as an agent.
The candidacy of Croom comes after the Phoenix Suns (Lon Babby) and Golden State Warriors (Bob Myers) hired agents in high-profile personnel jobs. Croom also has a law degree from the University of Virginia. He did his undergraduate work at Stanford.
Personally, I've never heard of Croom before, so I can't say whether he would be a good hire or not. Anyone here have anything on this guy?

Only have my gut feeling on this one D.  If in fact Croom has been seriously considered (Wojo is as reliable a source as you'll find), it seems to indicate what owner Paul Allen has maintained all along...that he is NOT selling the team.  Croom seems to compliment hands-on owner Allen very well, much the way Cho did.  Watching this search and subsequent hire very closely, as it will be both the first domino to fall and an indicator of the direction this franchise is taking.

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
