What is our number one need & is there a player in the 2012 draft that fits job description of our need to a tee?

Center is obviously Portland's biggest need with Thabeet not filling that role well, Pryzbilla aging and Thomas doing the same.  The Blazers need some athleticism at the 5 for sure.  PG is a close second, but at least there's some relative youth in that position so I see Portland addressing it second... if, and only if the best center in the draft is available.

The way I see it, hoping that we get NJ's pick at the 5 or 6, we should try to get Andre Drummond.  Yes he has potential to be a bust, but athletic 7 footers don't come along every day.  Thankfully, Drummond doesn't have a history of knee injuries so most of the orthopedic surgeons in the NW might have to look elsewhere for work next year.

With the pick at 11, the Blazers should try to get either PG Damian Lillard or PG Kendall Marshall.  Here's two completely different PG's with Lillard being the score first, combo guard that Portland tried to get in Jerryd Bayless.  While Marshall is your typical pass first/make-everyone-else-on-the-floor-better type of PG.  While they both have huge, yet different, upsides, there will be two factors as to which one the Blazers select: availability and which direction the team wants to go.

Most importantly the Blazers need to draft the best player available and NOT draft to their needs.  The above is of course a best case scenario with Portland having their cake and eating it too.

pg and no, then c and no- drummond is sollid- but has risks- id prefer to draft barnes,  then play FA for other needs- think a starting sf is obtainable - like this lineup

    dragic/flynn/smith
batum/williams (trade mathews and 11th pick for sav pick)
    wilson chandler/barnes/babbit
    LA/ JJ/ rhino
    jj/drummond/priz

think there is depth, strong players and explosiveness in this team, like mathews but think filling the team needs is more important, the weakness of this lineup will be post D- but we have the right cast to close a game and run and gun- drummond will learn alot from joel

I would agree that Drummond would be a good pick but taking a point in the first round would be a mistake.

If we get the 6th pick then we need have 5 targets only 3 realistic. Harrison Barnes, Andre Drummond, Anthony Davis (NL), Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (NL), and Bradley Beal.

With the 11th pick in the draft we need to trade this pick because they really is not anyone here we need unless of course we get Davis, Drummond or Kidd-Gilchrist then our options open up

Blaser, Fab Melo had 14 blocks in the D-League, you want him? Noel has good instincts, but he is waaay to weak to go up against NBA bigs. Like I said before, Deron Williams weighs more than him. He as already had a knee injury, and we know how tha...

Yeah It would be a good deal for them but who Olshey isnt reading this haha. If we can do this trade to start our off season we would be in great shape.

Rip a cap hold is a number given to free agents. Basically the cap hold is added to the teams salaries at the start of free agency. So for example a team has 10 million in cap space but has 15 million in cap holds they are technically over the sal...

Noel was playing at around 220 so I doubt the added weight will slow him down too much the guy just needs to continue his rehab and hit the weight room and he will be fine.

As long as he stops pulling the ball down in the post I will be happy nothing more annoying than watching that happen several times a game

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
