Anybody else sick of Felton's horrible play?

Did you watch the game tonight?

I hate Felton and I want to see him off the team.

He did not shoot well tonight but he held Harris and Tinsley in check, had 8 assists and 9 rebounds not exactly terrible. Want to blame someone try Batum or Matthews who were responsible for allowing a scrub like Gordon Hayward to score 22 points. Or you can blame the management for trading Gerald Wallace who could have guarded Millsap tonight and made him work on offense rather than letting him score 31 on 20 shots.

Would he still be worth watching in a Bulls uni, backing Rose?

    @ Tobyus...LOL!

@ cmeese...agree with your take on Nic.  Thought he was a defensive stopper?  Not if the likes of Hayward lights him up.  Not a Nic fan and never have been.  Can't say it enough.  Extremely gifted athletically speaking, but lacking a motor.  Wasted talent...  Certainly not worth a big contract.

if babbit keeps drilling shots from the 5th row and showing constant improvement and motivation, maybe batum wont even get an offer.

Babbit better keep shooting because that is his entire game. He is Jamal Crawford bad on defense.

It's not about hate. It's about what is good for the team.... right now at the point J. Flynn, center L. Aldridge, power forward J.J. Hickson, shooting guard N. Batum, small forward L. Babbitt....... After the season trade Matthews and Felton to the Charlotte Bobcats for K. Walker and their first round pick, or to Toronto for J. Bayless and their first round pick, or to Detroit for B. Knight and their first round pick, or to Sacramento for I. Thomas and their first round pick, or to New Orleans for C. Kaman and their first round pick. I think you can see my point we need another high first round pick I think we should target Robinson at back-up PF, and Lamb at SG, as long as we get a solid PG in trade.

what I cant understand is that Babbitt is out there for 9 mins and takes 3 shots and be 2-3 and Felton/crawford/mathews/batum can be out there for 9 mins and be 0-6/1-8/0-5/1-11. I mean if the guy is hitting from 3 feed him till he misses 2 or 3 it will open up the lane if he is in and hitting. If he could learn to lob and catch someone at the rim that would be a good play from the 3 point mark especially if he is fouled while making the play could be and 1 situations. Right now they use him as an outlet because there is no one else to pass to.

You seem to not have a clue how trades work in the NBA. You cannot trade free agents unless it is a sign and trade. Second if you think Felton is bad you would really hate this team with any of those guards running the offense. None of those guards play anything close to quality defense.

Second Robinson will be gone before we ever get a chance at him.

So when we decide what we want to trade it sounds like we do not have to worry about whether the other team wants to make the trade or not. It is also a good thing we will not have to abide by the NBA's rules regarding trades. Oh wait nevere mind, none of those ideas would work anyway.

My sister and I know a lot of Bobcats fans and even their media people. There is no way they are interested in trading away Walker. He and Biyombo are what they are building around for the future. That is probably the same with all the other teams and names you threw out there too. Lets make smart trades. Not stupid ones.

Dude you only posted part of the quote. Why don't you tell the whole story instead of trying to paint the worst possible picture of him? He was really upset with himself for how he finished the game. You're making it seem like he doesn't give a crap how he plays or whether they win the game.

id like to see raymond given a season to redeem himself next year. I think with proper practice and summer ball he would fit with the team, him and flynn make an awesome pair of PG's once their passing and timing gel with lamarcus, jj, and nic it's going to be a lob fest. i see him put in a lot of effort despite portland fans trying to blame him for everything. i'd say since he did come in out of shape, offer him a smaller/short contract, if he proves worth more then he'll get it next time. everyone wants deron williams but i think he's a baby. unless we get the like of ronjo im cool with felton at the helm, as long as he shows effort.

    Agreed stacksfan

We have seen Ray come around quite a bit this season already.  We wanted him because he was young and had potential.  That is still true.  He would look a lot better if he had an SG starting with him that could hit the broad side of a barn.  Think about how many assists he is missing this season due to bad shooting nights his teammates have had.  Poor team shot % makes a PG look terrible.  I believe that if we stick it out with Ray we could see dividends as early as next season.  He lacks confidence at times but his talent and potential are there.  With some maturing and some faith from the Blazers and their fans this guy could be elite.  Not to mention the rest of the league thinks he's worthless so we'd be hard pressed to get anything out of him in a trade that would match his potential.

Agreed with Hanson (welcome to the boards, firstposter), Stacks, and Posted.

I really hope that Ray sticks around next year. Not only would he silence all the haters, but we've seen what his game looks like when he's adjusted AND allowed to run his own style (thanks for nothin on that one, Nate). The last 3 games, I think he's barely missed back to back double doubles AND a triple double. Hasn't had any huge turnover games recently, and he's even put up a few "1"s and a "0" in that column.

On top of that, people keep forgetting what we've seen each time we've brought a new point guard to Portland; there's a period of adjustment where the numbers sink. It's not unusual on any team, of all the positions from a player's perspective the point is probably the one who benefits the most from having experience and familiarity with his teammates; he's the one deciding who gets what shots. So, next season we're going to have several new players, one way or another, and we'll need to be able to evaluate which ones fit right and what to do with the others. That process doesn't get any easier if we're dealing with a new pg, meaning the players around him may not be getting the best chances to showcase their skills.

Lets also not forget, this draft is not very guard heavy, so picking up a new point in trade would use a large chunk/most of our FA $, since like Posted said, Ray won't have as much value to others to other teams. So now you're limiting what $ we have to address other problem positions, such as keeping Hickson and Batum around town next year.

Let's not add to our problems. Felton had a rough start in a season that's been rough on everyone, on every team, and now he's showing much better potential. Give him a full season next year, as well as getting the offseason, summerball, and training camp, and then when we know more about what our team will look like we can address whether or not he's the best fit for us. He's certainly not the worst.

Thanks for the welcoming, 247. It's great to be here. And I totally agree with what you guys are saying. I think Felton and Flynn would be a very potent PG lineup for next season. I think I would prefer spending our FA money on getting a good Center. I have read some talk on here about Roy Hibbert. I don't know how realistic that idea is, but it sure would be exciting in my book if we could snag him this offseason. I also have interest in Chris Kaman. I don't know what the offers will be like to him from other teams, but I'm sure it wouldn't be outrageous and if we couldn't land Hibbert, he would be a quality player on both ends of the court. I would also be interested on seeing if we could bring in maybe Olajuwon, Ewing, or Jabar to work with Thabeet in the offseason. At 7'3", the guy has got to be promising enough to work with, right? Especially since I don't see him getting much money anywhere else, so it shouldn't cost too much to keep him.

First, there is nothing wrong with a sign and trade it gives the team a position of strength to work from.   Second, teams trade away players that fans think will never be traded all the time because the management of that team think it is best for their team.                                                                                                        Third, I'm not saying that making any trade will be easy but we would not have lost so many games this season if we did not need to change the faces on this dysfunctional team.                                                                     Fourth, I love the Trailblazers not just any one of the faces that make up the team, It would be nice to win with what we have but it does not seem to have worked this year.                                                                         Fifth, The biggest problem with this organization is management, you cannot run a team with a fill in GM with no job security, that is like running a hospital with a PRACTICING PHYSICIAN...... too much trial and error not enough professional experience.

I think everyone has jumped on the "hate Ray" bandwaggon a bit early! I mean he hasnt played all that great, but seriously though its a new team/teammates it takes time for a PG to run a team. Especially in the PG killer era (McMillan) do you think Nash would have thrived in Nates system? No way! Ray is actually avg. 13,6 ppg, 8,2 apg and 5,4 rpg over the last 10 games. I mean thats pretty good for a PG am I wrong? He need to shed some of those TO`s.

Ray is thriving in Canales system. He`s been playing really well since the all star break and trust me I have watched all the games this season and when Nate finally got fired he started to play well it`s not a coincidence.

Seriously everyone on the waggon should start blame someone else! Im thinking in Jamal`s way he`s the one whose hoisting meaningless jumpers. New thread: The Official 'We Hate Jamal Crawford' thread.
