So I can't claim this as my own idea, but let's throw it out their and see what the rest of Blazer Nation thinks? So like many of you, I had my eye on NY's David Lee, but that might lead to a decline in LaMarcus playing time and why would we want that (the more he plays the better he gets)? My co-worker Erik came to me with the following: Pick up Chris Wilcox from NY who also plays PF and doesn't need to start. He would be a great back up to LA + he is cheap. We could pick him up for pennies on the dollar (not that Paul Allen doesn't have money to spare) and then use the real cash for... reigning slam dunk champion... U Dub alumni... Nate "the GREAT" Robinson! Wilcox is 26, Nate is 25. We keep the youth movement and championships coming for years to come! Nate would be a great change of pace PG to play along Blake and I already made a case for Wilcox. You want more pros? Wilcox played at... Maryland with former Blazer Juan Dixon and who when they won the National title in 01/02? Steve Blake! I already mentioned how Robinson is a University of Washington Husky and I do believe he and Brandon may know each other? KP, are you listening? Trade Travis to NY, they are so dumb and transfixed on LeBron in 2010 that we could pull this deal off in our sleep. The notion of this deal makes me so excited I can hardly contain myself. Someone get me KP's cellphone number/direct line/email address!
I am a fan of us getting a free agent deal from NY. Nate "the Great" Robinson and Chris Wilcox! Hello PG and back up PF/defensive presence/rebounder/shot blocker.

I love the Wilcox suggestion.  He would be a great backup forward and you're right when you say getting Lee wouldn't make sense.  Unless we signed him and traded him right away to a team that actually needs him.  That way we could get multiple players for him that would be sufficient for us.  Another player that fits in that Wilcox mind set would be Brandon Bass.  He would be a great fit too.  But I don't think Nate Robinson would be a great fit for us here in Portland (if we kept Blake).  Because we do not need Bayless AND Robinson if we still have Blake in the rotation.  Having just Bayless and Robinson and then another "scrub" type of player as the third option PG would be a better fit.  However, I still think we need a VETERAN PG to help shape Bayless into a future star.  Hell, even if we brought in Allen Iverson to be a SG/PG I would love to see the impact he would have on Bayless.  But more likely, I would love to see a PG like Andre Miller or Steve Nash coming in for 2-3 years.  And then when they are ready to retire we would have Bayless at his prime.
I am a fan of the best team in the league

The Blazers were winning!  That is the key word, were.  Blazers are living proof that you can live and die by the jumper.  Lately it has been dying.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
