Why not Marion?

    Hedo Turkoglu didn't work out, and I'm glad. Shawn Marion is a guy I think would fit perfect in Portland. He can play SF, he is very athletic, he finishes at the rim, he is a decent shooter, and he can DEFEND! Why are The Blazers not pushing for him instead of David Lee?

    I agree.  David Lee is an outstanding player and I would love to have him on our roster.  However, we have LaMarcus who will be our starting PF for years to come so not only would it not make sense to bring in Lee, it would be unfair to him.  He is not a backup, he is a starter.  It's interesting to see the Blazers upper management try to first go after Hedo, who I don't think we actually needed as much as a point guard or backup power forward.  It is a blessing it did not work out.  Marion would be a great addition because we need defensive toughness and he is great at defense and not bad at all on offense.  I still think Andre Miller would be the best asset for us to gain, along with a Brandon Bass type of player.  Miller and Bass would be extremely better than just getting Hedo.  We'll see.

    Marions problem is between his ears, no way he wears a Blazer jersey.

    I don't think Marion is a problem, I think the teams he has been on have been problems.  This guy went from a very successful Suns team to a very terrible Heat team to an even worse Raptors team.  He hasn't exactly had the best opportunity to  be in a great mood.  I think with the right team (or successful team) like the Blazers he would not be a problem at all.  In fact, I think he could be one of the best SF in the game right now...

    I heard that Marion and Amare just couldn't get along anymore, and they decided to keep Amare instead of Shawn. Was that the right decision? Hmmmmm. Steve Kerr needs help down there! What's Dan Majerle doin' besides working on his tan and giving Rudy bad dunk scores? Blazers should grab Nash, if they decide to go with Marion.

    I think another player worth looking at would be Tayshaun Prince from Detroit.  He is an outstanding defender and would help offensively some too.  If we were to obtain David Lee and then go after Prince in a trade, it would be a perfect situation.  If not Lee, then a proficient PG (i.e. Nash or Andre Miller).  We could trade Outlaw, Blake and next summers 1st Round draft pick to Detroit for Prince.  He could start at SF and we could get Nash or Miller to start at PG and shape Bayless into a future all-star point.

    Prince would be good for The Blazers too.

    Acctually I take that back, Batum is better for us in the long run. If we don't pick up anyone we'll still have Webster,Outlaw, and Batum at SF. That's not a bad set of Fowards at all. I'm just glad we didn't get Turkoglu.

    Henson will be solid down the road but his ceiling is more like Taj Gibson. He is a great role player but not elite like Sanders and Ibaka could be if people were not so willing to shoot on him.
