Rumor is New York wants him as Coach.  He is one of the best judges of Character and Talent out there.  He would be a great GM and also if Kaleb does well and Blazers decide to make him permanent, he would be a great teacher for this young coach.

One issue is that he and Deron Williams got in such a heated argument during the halftime the day before he quit with the Jazz it may blow our chances of getting Deron in Free Agency.

I still think he would be a great GM for the Blazers.  Issue is could he work for the intrusive Paul Allen.

    Your thoughts?

He probably would be a great choice as GM. That is exactly why it will never happen. With our recent track record where GM's are concerned, can you imagine a guy of Jerry Sloan's quality and temperament being willing to work for the currrent owner? Which brings up another good question. Does anyone really think that the ownership is NOT trying to sell the team?

I think that they are trying to sell the squad. If that is so,good riddance to the current owner. And take those Vulcan misfits with you. Lets get a basketball mind in the house.
I am a fan of our new roster playing with and for eachother.

Jason Quick of The Oregonian reports...
    ----------------
Trail Blazers president Larry Miller on Tuesday night says the team has started its process to look for a new general manager. Miller says the Blazers' ideal candidate will have GM experience OR a highly regarded No. 2 man in the NBA. Miller said previous candidates will NOT be considered. Last year, the Blazers interviewed "5 or 6" candidates according to Miller.
    ----------------

Kerry Eggers of the Portland Tribune reports the same, and adds that Miller said interim coach Kaleb Canales could be considered for the full-time position.
    ----------------
"We’re going to look at how it goes the rest of the year, and it’s very possible he’ll be a candidate when we hire a new coach," Miller said.

I would be more in favor of giving the GM/ Coach to Larry Brown.

I posted this March 20, 2012 and guess what it is now May 24, 2012 and he is still not signed.  Give joim a Pete Carroll Deal.  Question is will Miller give up control?  Miller has no clue about Talent.

He's old fashioned. Nate was old fashioned. I think we need some new blood.

Hawes will be a hot commodity by the trade deadline, I would think the sixers could find a better offer.

However, I do believe Mo Williams could have somewhat of  a high trade value. Olshey needs to make a deal to get a big man while we...

Yeah and now Blazers have zero interest in Bynum. I really thought he was worth the small risk. If anything he would be at the end of our bench and we use him as a sub. Hopefully we do make some type of trade for a quality back up center. Right no...
