Larry Miller was quoted yesterday as saying "

"Miller said the search for a permanent coach and general manager would begin after the season."

GM has been open since Cho left and one of the best evaluators and coaches is out and available now "Jerry Sloan".  So my question is why wait?  If Paul Allen is really looking toward the future, then start today and get a GM and a coach for the future today.  Sign Jerry Sloan as possible GM and then get Terry Porter from Minnesota to get Rip City back on the Map instead of a door mat.

Mr. Allen you gutted the franchise yesterday for the future (which in part I agree with (Felton & Crawford are big question marks, but maybe they will flourish under a new coach)).  The future is now and before us.

START TODAY, START NOW, SIGN JERRY SLOAN, GIVE HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS.  (Which in turn means you will have to give up control and let the Basketball People who know better return us to Blazermania and Rip City.

Mr. Allen, you did it in Seattle with Pete Carroll, now do it with Portland.

it would definitely be more attractive gm job if the team was looking to hire before the draft, but it makes more sense to wait until the offseason to hire a coach just so you can decide what direction you can go by what type of players you can get via draft or free agency. paul allen seems to know what he's doing right now. if it doesnt work then so be it, but at least there seems to be a plan.

Waiting to get the leadership in place until you fumbled through free agency and the draft is the worst thing they can do.

Get a compatible coach and GM together now.  Any top level coach should be able to deliver the remainder of this season as well or better than coach K. so you lose nothing there except money which there is no cap on for coaches.

Then go into the off-season with a coach and GM who know what kind of players they have, and can aggressively pursue free agents right away.  Then go into the draft with some very nice picks to round out the roster and fill any gaps.

I kinda hope we have a GM before the draft at least.

I guess Batum would be a good fit since Ilysavoa plays 4 more than the 3, which I didnt know lol

I think this would be a really good deal for Bucks then. They can draft Dieng with the 10 and maybe Franklin with their pick.

You''re right. They should dump Monta though. I was thinking maybe the Rockets could use the number 1 pick to get the lakers to do a sign and trade for D12.

Paul Allen might sell the Blazers but the Blazers will never leave Rip City.
