     However, many people within the organization are quick to point the finger at head coach Nate McMillan, who is currently on the hot seat. Portland entered the season as a dark horse to contend in the Western Conference, but now sits outside the playoff picture with a 19-21 record.

    Sources close to the situation believe that McMillan has lost the locker room. According to one source, there’s a growing number of players who would like to see McMillan fired, with assistant coach Bernie Bickerstaff taking over as interim head coach. Bickerstaff has coached the Seattle SuperSonics, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards and Charlotte Bobcats, accumulating 414 wins throughout his career.

    The players aren’t the only ones who are questioning McMillan. Sources within the organization have criticized the coach’s rotations and in-game adjustments. It’s always telling when a head coach has seemingly run out of answers, and that appears to be the case in Portland. One team source said that McMillan “has no idea what to do” as the Blazers slip further down the standings.

    See, all of us fans who have been saying this for a couple of years now seem to know a bit about what seems to be going on. I just feel a bit bad for Nate because I wanted him to succeed with this team. Hopefully things will turn around.

    The dude don't even watch Blazer games, and he's gonna evaluate Nate's career in 5 paragraphs or less?

    Gimme a break, we'd stink somethin' fierce without Coach Nate.

    @Tobyus, I hate to break this terrible news on you, but we do stink somethin' fierce. I'm not ready to blame Nate, but I'm not giving him any credit for the team's successes either. This team lives and dies by the players... and to me that's actually a sign that Nate is completely expendable. A coach should be able to have an influence on his team's performance, and it seems that Nate McMillan has no affect on the Blazers.

    Meh...firing Nate would be futile.  We were winning under Nate for several seasons...many more games than we were supposed to.  I hate this scapegoat crap.  I mean Nate has never looked like someone I would like to hang out with...always scowling.  But, come now.  He is not the source of our problems.

    Love Nate but honestly don't feel he is the right fit for a rebuilding team featuring young players in regular rotation.  Be mindful, many times players get the praise for a team's success while coaches take the blame for any failures or shortcomings.

    Interesting that Kennedy mentions Bickerstaff's career wins but doesn't mention losses (517).  Never been a BernieBacker and questioned his hire.  Average at best in his prime, now on the backside of his career.  If Bernie is the backup plan, keeping Nate until season's end, barring a complete collapse, would be prudent imo.
