Nate has had a very tight rotation so far this season. But, lately he has started giving playing time to Elliot Williams and Chris Johnson. Here is my prediction, Portland will offer Raymond Felton, Chris Johnson, Elliot Williams and maybe Oden with his expiring contract as well to Boston for Rajon Rondo and spare parts. Too me, for Nate to make such a departure from his rotation is a sign that the team is trying to raise the trade value of those two players. Also, that may be why they brought back the vanilla gorilla Joel Pryzbilla. Boston is old and they need an injection of youth and Portland needs a premiere PG. Portland might be forced to sweeten the pot with someone like Wesley Mathews or Gerald Wallace.

interesting food for thought.  I would hope the blazers would trade only felton and Mathews for Rondo.  I think we may have a sleeper in Elliot Williams and the jury is still out on most of our young talent.  I do not think Rondo is going anywhere soon.

^recent news, boston announced they are listening to good offers for rondo which means A they will want nash or another veteran pg to  push for one more championship, or B they are gonna do some major renovations (news from inside boston is that the owner and rondo are not getting along)

if they want to do A then this could work
    http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6thg8ou
gives boston a good center to play solid minutes also wallace is a great defender and can put pierce at sg,  gives them a chance at one more title

we get rondo, allen, and a center

phx gets expiring contracts, and mathews, then we give them a first and second rd pick and boston gives them a first rd pick

if the latter itd be hard for us to snatch rondo
    -----------------------------------------------------
if we go after nash... phx will want batum and we will want to trade felton and mathews.... stalemate... dont see this happening
    --------------------------------------------------------
howard and williams want a big city so they can get endorsements dont see them coming here
    -----------------------------------------------------
ellis is obtainable, might have to give up crash and matthews, might be to much, not sure if this could happen
    --------------------------------------------------------
in the end i see us making a minor trade, collison? trade for brooks? i just see us trading mathews for a pg to start, keeping felton, and he comes off the bench, the rotation will be smoother because crawford will go back to sg and batum can play more sf, I think portland waits to a great offseason, and grabbing a tier 2 or 3 players (kayman, lopez, landry, etc)

wow, that's a first, I did not get killed for my post. Usually I get negative replies. I want to thank you guys for being civil. Its nice to hear someone have a different perspective without being nasty. There are some people in this forum that just go around bashing everyone else without really putting together their own post. I'm not a professional writer and putting your thoughts down in text is not always easy.

I know how you feel. So much negativity just to start a debate between fans. I just posted how I feel. I feel like the Blazers may make a push for Rondo as well. Unfortunately your deal may not be enough. Sure you can throw in draft picks to sweeten the deal, but I think if we really want Rondo, I think Boston will want Batum in return. Although Batum could be our future, I would rather see him be traded for Rondo instead of someone like Nash. Also, the truth is we may not even be able to retain him after the season if his agent says they are going to look elsewhere. Rather get something in return for his potential..

i agree with you to a point, i think nash can be traded strait up for rondo, i also think if we give felton mathews and picks phx would be ok with trading nash, so a 3 way trade, nash to boston, rondo here, felton mathews and picks to phx works out for everyone

I'm not sure the the minutes for the young players is to increase their trade value, but I do think it's directly related to the trade deadline. I actually think Nate is trying to figure out what he has in the bench players that we haven't seen much of. I'm guessing he's checking out Elliot and Chris in the hopes that Portland can listen to offers for Wesley and Camby. I think that's more likely the direction I would go, but then again, this franchise does very little the way I would do it. We'll see. I definitely expect a move at the deadline though. That's typical of the Blazers even in a decent season, I can't imagine no moves will be made THIS year.

I would through in Babbitt with felton and matthews, keeping our options open to trade wallace and camby for a unrestricted 1st rounder from a cellar dweller.

A possible trade of camby, wallace, and oden to New Orleans for Kaman, Ayon and an unconditional 1st round pick

phx should want batum but i dont think boston would just because he'd have to play back-up to pierce. all in all i dont think boston would give up rondo for unproven youngsters like ewill and chris johnson and definitely not felton. its just an opinion but i think the celtics could get much better offers for rondo.

I'll predict the team doesn't take on alot of money, contractually speaking, and doesn't make any moves making them significantly better.  I believe Paul Allen is selling

A weird trade that leaves us all scratching our heads, causing us to wonder, what the heck the management is thinking. Sorry about the negative attitude, but this season is a bit depressing.

So...who would Rondo be passing it to? The whole appeal of Rondo is that he can spit it out to the spot up shooter. Rondo can't shoot. Even if the boston trade went through with Ray Allen, then that only gives us a few good years with him. Not worth it.

i think people are over-valuing batum. he's a good player but people are acting as if he's a great player. i agree that he's coming along nicely and i would rather keep him but if we had to trade nico to get rondo who is already a great player would you do it?

Portland is a team with no GM and about 3 people making decisions.  The coach does not run the team like last year.  Either the team personnel must change or the coach must change.  I do not think the management knows what kind of a team they want and who is the right coach to run it.  The team seems to be like the titanic and solving all of our problems by moving the deck chairs.  I was really enthusiastic about this season but it has not materialized like I thought.

I am predicting that there will be minimal if any trades that take place before the trading deadline.  These trades will be minor with no major blockbuster trades.  I am preparing for more disappointments but hoping something good happens.  I think we all need some good news.  We have been snakebit long enough.

Overvaluing Batum? This is the first season that he has been given a chance to grow outside of his rookie season! Rondo is a star but it is contingent upon being able to pass to shooters, which we don't have. Remember how everyone at the beginning of the season said that we should trade Batum because he hasn't panned out yet? He is young with a lot of room to grow. This team needs to get rid of the players that don't care and that aren't producing.

this is not the first season he's had a chance to grow. he's been getting gradually better. and im not knocking his game but when the conversation comes to getting rondo you cant say no way! thats something you definitely have to consider. great passers know who when and where to pass the ball and rondo can do that. but passing isnt the only facet of rondo's game. he can finish at the rim and rebound too. when was the last time a blazer had a triple double? my point being if there is a legit chance to take a player like rondo you do it, based on what you have, not potential.
